When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist was very helpfull. The rooms however where limited to two choices. Our room had a split level for the double bed. The ceiling was probably around 1 meter from the ceiling which is not a good thing when your boyfriend is over 190cm long. The bed was less than we hoped for, the mattras was a spring matras. It was not comfortable, we sunk allmost to the floor through the matras.
The room did have a very good refrigerator and also a good microwave. The supermarket is not far from the hotel so we where able to get quality microwave dinners for a friendly price.
Now to the part that is totally unacceptable for any hotel.
The shower: the showerhead was broken, it had a large crack on top of it thus a lot of the water spayed all over the place. When we took a shower, my boyfriend helped me by holding the showerhead and keeping the crack sealed (as good as possible). The watter was nice in temperature so i began to put shampoo in my hear. All tthe sudden the water became boiling hot and i burned my head. luckily my boyfriend could turn the showerhead away from me in a matter oof seconds and shut down the shower while almost burning his hands. All the other sinks in the room or the whole hotel where the same story... hot boiling water. We boughed water and had put this in the fridge before so we had cold water to put on my burned skin. It helped a bit but it still really really hurt. My boyfriend told the receptionist about this just a few moments later. The reply was like nothing serious had happened, no appology or anything. The workers in the hotel had apparently not noticed anything and we wheren't told about the water beeing disabled!!!! we asked if the rest of the hotel was beeing warned, but again no serious responce.
On a side note, most of the staff in the Boka hotel is very friendly and won't shun to help you.
Because of the heat we left our window open at night. So one night we both woke up and heared noices from in the kitchen. My boyfriend switched on the light and went to look from the stairs what the noice was al about. Two cats, belonging to the hotel, had walked into our room at night and scared the both of us (fearing for a burglar).
The stair to the split level was very steep... we managed to avoid hurting ourselfs here, but i can imagine someone sliping of the stair.
The breakfast was a bit plain for the advertised "complete" english breakfast. We got 4 pieces of toast with white beans, a sausage, backed egg and a good piece of bacon. Drinks where: coffee, thee (bags), hot chocolat milk, milk and fruit juice. There was also an asortment of jams and sauses. As i said a bit plain but still, it is a free service.
I hope that we wiill recieve a serious reaction this time, especially on the shower story.
