The Holly House has a lot going for it: very central location in Victoria, clean rooms, friendly & helpful staff - all at a really good price for central London (£52/night)
It does however have one major drawback
That side of Hugh Street backs directly onto the main line right outside Victoria railway station. I think the first trains started shunting at about 0430 and I had to get up and leave by 5:45!
If you can get a room at the front of the hotel, then is a great option for a budget central London hotel. Avoid the back rooms unless you like trains – a lot !
We were assigned in a room very small not suitable to a couple with a small child even though u already mentioned u got a small child when you booked, the stairways very narrow.the room so hot we have to open our window, they got a very small fan suitable for one person only.they advertise free oriental breakfast, what we got 5 slices of toast for the 3 of us and choose from the cereals displayed in the dining.a pitcher of juice n make your own coffee n tea on the table, they will put hot water n milk.the toilet very small so if u are a big lad u can not fit in well.they only provide small soap,no shampoo. They owned 5 hotels beside each other so the reception will be on the next building and the breakfast will be on the next building.we've been to other budget hotels but this one very disappointing.reception people looked unwelcoming its the guest will say good morning but there was one older guy in the reception we think the owner is more polite and accommodating.
