“Pleasantly surprised.”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 via mobile

We stayed for its locale more than anything else. It is nearly next door to the Royal Albert Hall and close to Hyde Park. The room was small but perfectly adequate, staff friendly and helpful. We found a secure carpark round the corner. We chose not to have the continental breakfast as an extra, but it looked lovely. We would stay there again.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Royal Albert Hall, the Science and Natural History museums, and South Kensington tube station, all within a 10-15 minute walk away.
The hotel is in a terrace of Edwardian buildings on Queens Gate. Our room was on the 4th floor, overlooking the back, with views to a mews, which had lots of building work going on, (not a problem to us because we only stayed for one night). The room was well appointed, large enough, with an en- suite, and air conditioning.
The hotel has a lift, but only serves the first and second floors, this was not a problem to us, but it may be if you stay for longer than we did. Breakfast was continental, with a good choice of cereals, cheese, cold meats, etc.

Room Tip: If you are not good with stairs choose ground, first or second floors.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. Of course being an old building the lift can sometimes be a small issue. We do our best by offering to take luggage to rooms and bring them down.
I am glad you liked the area. Should you decide to visit the Albert Hall again please contact us directly and we will make sure you get the best deal available.
Thank you

When we arrived to check in the receptionist saw my husband had a walking stick and immediately changed our room to a ground floor one. The room was really good and very clean. The staff are all very helpful ringing for taxis etc. Will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

After reading previous reviews I expected my single room (11) to be small - and it was just that. However, it had everything I needed for a one night stay and the location close to the Albert Hall was great. Room at back of hotel and view of brick wall 10 feet or so away, but being at the back it was very quiet and I slept well with windows open and heard no outside noise.
Bathroom small with VERY small shower cubicle. I imagine some people would have trouble getting in and closing door, although I just about managed to get in, shut the door and turn around.
For the price, in Central London and a good position with good quality fitments in room, I don't think it can be bettered.

Room Tip: Room 11 (single) is very small, but perfectly adequate if room only being used for sleeping, and bes...

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. The single rooms are quite small but for someone spending a single night in London i believe they are perfect. I hope we can welcome you back soon and we can perhaps accommodate you in one of our larger rooms. Kind regards

We stayed 3 nights and had a pleasant stay. Clean rooms, healthy breakfast, calm ambience and good service when we needed some input on restaurants etc. This is a Residential area and the building is a former Apartment building. The interior is a Nice mix of classic old and modern. They have succeded With the interior mix. Location Close to Kings Road where the shopping and dining is less crowded and more autentic than high street like Oxford Street etc.

My wife and I stayed at 54 Boutique last week as we was visiting the Albert Hall. Upon arrival staff were very friendly. First impression was nicely styled and very clean. Our room was on the 4th floor which was no problem for us. The room interior was superb and a good size with a large comfy bed. Bathroom was ample with a powerful shower over the bath.
Location - ideal for South Kensington tube, Hyde Park, Natural History Museum and the Royal Albert Hall.

I stayed at this hotel for a week's holiday in London. The location is amazing, close to the underground or buses and unbelievably convenient for visiting the Museum of Natural History, Imperial College London, the Victoria and Albert, shopping, restaurants, and connections to visit other attractions. Decor is smart modern and there is a lift. My single room was tiny tiny so an incentive to get out and about in gorgeous London. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Thank you for your kind review. I have to say that our single rooms are great for a 1 or 2 night stays. I think if you are looking for a week then perhaps a double or deluxe would be better suited. I am happy to read that you enjoyed your time here at the hotel and of course in our Lovely city and I hope you will come back soon as there is so much to see and do in London that another visit is a must!
