Love:

- Rooms - recently built, stylish, comfortable beds.
- Staff - young, personable, educated, interesting - perfect.
- Staybridge offering - only inclusive breakfast I actually like, larder, free wi-fi..etc
- The HUGE shopping centre that surrounds this place - restaurants, shops (jncluding very high end - i.e. Prada, cinema etc all on your front step - for business people you can come home, do the London shopping for the family and eat all within 200m of the front door.
- Transport links - so many options

Could do better:

- The Olympics are OVER! If you are a tourist this is a long way outside central London (30 minutes by tube). That said, if the cost and quality overcomes the daily trip...than who am I to argue 'cause that is why I stay there.

Context - I am a IC Hotel Platinum member who stays over 125 nights a year in their hotels. I therefore are often upgraded. This is pretty much the best of their entire chain (value for money wise)

We stayed at the Staybridge for 2 nights on weekend trip to London.

The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very well presented with all the amenities you could need for a weekend away... including a fully fitted out kitchen with a dishwasher.

We had a great view of the Olympic park from our room and with easy access to the Westfield shopping centre and Stratford tube / rail station (5 mins slow walk from hotel entrance to the station) this means you never have to walk too far for anything.

The breakfast provided was very good quality, fresh and tasted lovely.

If you go on a weekend you will need to tell them to clean your room as they leave the cleaning on the weekend, so if you want a nicely made bed on your stay you should let them know this on arrival.

Overall we had a lovely stay, our room was bright and in very good condition, helpful friendly staff and a delicious breakfast to top it off.

This was our first stay at a Staybridge Suite and my first trip to London as well. First of all, I was impressesd by the location of the hotel. Upon arriving via the tube at the Stratford station, it was barely a 5 minutes walk through the modern shopping plaza of Westfield city with tonnes branded outlets, fastfood chains and restaurants. I knew it would be very convenient even before arriving at the reception.

The reception itself was located at the highest level of the building which was unlike any typical hotel lobby. There was a homely feel to it with plenty of tables and comfortable chairs. From the lobby it was all about the breathtaking view of the Olympic stadium.

The staff who greeted us was friendly enough. We did arrive around 1.30pm which was earlier than the 3pm check in time. We also requested for a room with the Olympic stadium view during our advance purchace via the official hotel website. Understandably, the room was not yet ready since we arrived early.

We were told to get ourselves comfortable at the lobby and pantry with complimentary bevarages from the coffee machine. Our only regret was that we waited until past 3pm and we were told our room was still not ready. It was unfortunate to get an explanation that it would take a bit more time to try and get the room with the particular view requested. I almost felt that the fault was mine for putting in such request. After reinstating that the request was made more than a month in advance we were given 'another' room on a different floor with the olympic stadium view. It definitely wasn't a pleasant check in process.

Once we (finally) gotten into our room, a king size bed studio suite, everything was available just as mentioned in the previous reviews. The kitchen was a stand out with all its kitchenette and even an automated dishwasher. The apple tv was a good inclusion as well with its huge selection of international channels except the surprisimg lack of English sport channels. Those Barclays Premier League football fans may be slightly disappointed. Then we noticed the fridge wasn't working. The frontdesk was notified. There wasn't any other room of our type available. Subsequently, we were very grateful that they decided to upgrade us to a one bedroom suite.

Our four nights at the Staybridge has been a pleasant experience. With all the facilities available (even has a free laundry room complete with washing machine and dryer), I would say it has also been a good value overall. Special mention to a staff name Timothy who has been very helpful and friendly.

Me and my partner went to the stay bridge for his 25th birthday. we went on a saturday til the sunday. And I must say it was soo fantastic, the staff are soo friendly and welcoming and the rooms are 5 star. we was on the 12th floor and from our room we had fantastic views of the olympic stadium and canary whalf. its just litteraly 30 seconds from stratford station, we drove and park in the car park for only £5 for 24 hours. The shopping is great soo many stores to choose from. The best part of the trip was the night life theres a big casino and a very nice bar with music for all. I must say the rooms are sooo cosy and romantic its sooo worth the money, i will be going back again in the new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The breakfast is includid in your rate and there was a very wide selection its was fresh and warm. we got our breakfast and brought it back to our room for breakfast in bed lol....had a greaaat time.

Room Tip: 12th floor for fantastic views

Stayed here recently for a weekend trip to London with my wife. Hotel is 2-3 mins from the doorstep of Stratford station (Jubilee, Central and Overground). Central London is only 20 mins away on the tube (you'll need a Zone 1-3 travelcard). It is located within the brand new Westfield shopping centre which is huge and has loads of shops and restaurants.

Hotel sits on the top five floors of the Holiday Inn Stratford and if you get a room on the even side, you have great views of the Olympic Park (although it is now closed until next July). Rooms are an okay size but very well decorated. You have a full kitchen with everything you need - microwave, fridge, toaster, oven, hob and even a dishwasher. Flat screen TV with AppleTV connected. Bathrooms don't have a bath but the rainfall shower is excellent. There is a complimentary breakfast served on the 12th floor each morning and as well all the usual continental breakfast items, they also serve hot items like sausage, egg, bacon, hash browns etc. There is also complimentary tea/coffee served here at any time.

Although the internet is complimentary throughout the hotel, it is very low speed (256kbs) and is really only useful for web browsing. You can purchase high speed internet for £7 per 24 hrs which runs from the Apple TV in your room and gives you speeds of approx 8Mbs. This would be my only complaint about the hotel. I was there Ryder Cup weekend (bad timing, I know) so purchased the internet on the Friday afternoon and expected to have to renew it again for the Saturday evening, but it was still connected and was only charged £7 for the whole weekend. Not sure if this was an error or maybe you get it for the 2 days at weekends but I wasn't complaining. I also had a problem when checking out as someone else rather cheekily purchased a bottle of wine and put it onto our room, but the extremely pleasant american guy at reception immediately removed it with no hassles when I queried this with him.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting London. Any staff that we encountered were very helpful and friendly and the location is excellent (if you don't mind 20 mins on the tube into London).

For reference, I had a bit of trouble finding the hotel on first arrival as it is not signposted, so here are some easy directions if you do plan to visit there.

When exiting Stratford station, you will see some escalators/stairs in front of you, go up these to the ground floor (station is on lower ground). You will see M&S on your left. Stay outside the shopping centre and walk round the corner to your right and then walk up towards the Nike and Liberty stores. When you get past Liberty go round the corner to your left and the entrance to the Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites is on your left. Take one of the two lifts on the right hand side of the small lobby and go up to the 12th floor.

Room Tip: Ask for an even numbered room if you want a view of the Olympic Park.

Stayed here for the weekend ... Weekend rates which are very good for a London hotel. This place is in the centre of Stratford City Westfield Shopping Mall... So perfect for shopping. This area whilst in East London is also great for the West End via 25 bus or Central Line tube. Hotel is partnered with a Holiday Inn. Very new and clean with full kitchen suites...The upmarket Waitrose supermarket is few steps away and although breakfast is thrown in .. it is what I call "plastic" ... And so was avoided.
So far so good then? You'd think so until you get given an odd numbered room whichever floor. These not only look out onto the rooftop air con units ... See pic.. But also face the very large outside (smoking) area of the Casino opposite. Being a light sleeper the noise subsides at 4am. To be fair on checking out, the receptionist did say when I was asked if everything was OK that they do recognise the noise problem and views of these rooms. The even numbered rooms do not have this problem and also have wonderful views over London!
So how to get one I asked? "Ring ahead and get reception to lock down a room for you". So there you have it ... Be warned.
