“Great hotel for the weekend”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

Stayed at this hotel for a saturday night in late 2012, we got the train from Norwich to Stratford and on arrival we were so early our check-in wasn't quite available (although as we arrived they made sure to speed up the cleaning of the room). This wasn't a problem though being right in the heart of Westfield, so we left our bags and went for lunch and did some shopping before returning to get our keys to our room. The room was really clean and nicely furnished; our room was just a basic double room (with a queen sized bed I think) and there was apple TV, a desk and a fully functional kitchen (staybridge also has it's own shop in the lobby that sell ready meals, pizzas, bread, milk etc.) as well as all the usuals, ensuite etc. Bathroom was fab and modern with a big shower and all the soap type things.

Access to the rooms was via keycard which also took you too your floor through use in the lift. I've seen some people comment on location being the only problem and although I can understand this may be the case for some people, we were in London for a surprise trip to see Les Miserables on the saturday evening and it was perfect for us - just getting the tube across the city - in fact it was so convenient we even went to a restaurant near Marble Arch via tube for sunday lunch also.

100% would recommend this hotel and location in Westfield perfect if you want to do some shopping and have lunch/dinner out (there's also many bars and a 24hr casino) -everything right on your doorstep but its still very secluded and private.

(also we both had the best nights sleep ever on their beds, I don't know what it was but I woke up feeling as if I'd had the deepest nights sleep)

The hotel is zone 3 of the underground - it was a 25-30 minute ride out from Euston - and then a short walk through a shopping centre to get to the hotel itself. For people flying in – a taxi to the hotel would be £££’s.

This is the first time we have stayed in a Staybridge in the UK - but have used them in USA. Hotel is fairly new and thus is in good order, nice fixtures and the 'home from home' environment was evident.

Our room was £168 for one night – midweek rate booked 3 months in advance. That included a hot breakfast. Breakfast was fine - self service, limited buffet style but it does what a breakfast does.

Hotel has a small fitness area and a laundry - so for longer stays in London I guess this would be ideal. Rooms are well appointed, bathroom has a shower and small kitchenette means people could self cater - again, a plus for longer stays. Plenty of dining options in and out of the hotel.
We did not receive any sort of upgrade for being platinum elite customers - I believe there are bigger rooms - but we were placed in standard studio one - clearly the hotel must have been full, and it is not a mandatory to upgrade - it is just we usually are, unless it is a stay on points, which this stay was not. We were given high speed internet access as part of being a platinum elite guest - and a cookie! Room styles are listed as studio king, deluxe studio king, standard suite and 1 bedroom suite with breakfast. I am not sure if any of the rooms are able to accommodate any more than 2 people?

The staff were lovely - though there was always a delay at reception -even though we didn't arrive till 7pm. Cleaning is at a very high standard.

In short, if you are staying a few days in London - being a bit out of the centre, with a very flexible room would be very beneficial. Especially if you want to do some mall shopping & laundry! If you want to see the central sights and are only staying one night, I am not sure this would be such a good choice.

My wife and I stayed here a few days ago as a business trip with a couple of days pleasure tagged on. It was a bit out of town compared to the usual central London location we pick but was handy for my conference. But the really big plus for us was that it's only 6 minutes on the Javelin high speed train from St Pancras, where our train arrived (well Kings Cross really but it's almost the same) to Stratford International rail station. The Javelin runs about every 13 to 15 minutes.

From that station to the Staybridge Suites is a 5 minute walk, almost completely indoors, via Westfield Shopping Centre, one level up from the lower ground where you enter from the station concourse. The main Stratford underground/overground and DLR station is a 4 minutes walk in the other direction; the underground is served by the Central line, which takes you right into central London.

Staybridge Suites is really just floors 8 to 11 of the Holiday Inn but it has its own dedicated check-inn. The suites are like a studio timeshare, complete with microwave, fridge, kettle, sink etc. The bathroom is done out in a nice contemporary marble, with a really good monsoon shower. It has a 42 inch flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi.

Breakfast was really good. Maybe not quite up to Hilton standards but I did like the layout, where you got juices and milk from cartons in a refrigerated display rather than something resembling a giant tea urn. The kitchen staff were friendly and kept everything spotlessly clean. The breakfast area is on the 12th floor with a great view of the Olympic park (see photo), although it is bit like a building site just now as it is being redeveloped. There's also a patio balcony for the warmer weather.

The Westfield Centre is vast, with virtually all the major stores in residence. It also had a good selection of restaurants - we dined one night at Jamie's Italian which is a one minute walk straight out the front door of the hotel, directly ahead. I also like the combination of indoor and outdoor layout of the Westfield - must be good in the summer.

We will definitely stay here again when we next come to London. I imagine it would be even nicer in warm weather.

Room Tip: Ask for a south-facing room and you will get a view of the Olympic park

We stayed here for 1 night after flying into Stansted from Belfast - finding the place was easy with the Sat Nav in the car. Parking in Car Park B was good as it was only 5 pound for the night and very convenient to the Accommodation.
Having the pantry to buy some food etc is a good idea but not a great selection of "meals'' perhaps because Staybridges is connected to the shopping centre and there is plenty of places to get a meal there.
Rooms and bathrooms were immaculately clean and well designed, bed was so comfortable. Our room was opposite the Casino but that was not a problem as no noise was heard so we got a great nights sleep.
Breakfast was help yourself - again a good idea - staff were friendly and there to help if need be.
Location was good - near the tube and DLR plus Westfield was really good.
Would we stay here again - absolutely !!!

We were first-time visitors to London, and this hotel's location right by a tube stop made this an affordable, convenient, and comfortable choice for us. We loved it! Good restaurants were just steps away. The small kitchenette in this modern, spotless hotel allowed us to bring food back and reheat it the next day. Breakfast was adequate (even though the coffee machines frequently malfunctioned), and the weekday evening reception was lovely and good. The staff was always available with helpful information about transportation, London attractions, and good places to eat. We were very happy with our choice of hotels, and I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

The Staybridge Suites Stratford was perfect for us... a couple of first time London visitors. The location was great, with access to the tube and the DLR just steps away. Being in the Westfield Mall provided many choices for restaurants and even a grocery store for those nights when we just wanted to stay in after a long day of sight-seeing. We were worried that it would be too far away from the City sights, but it is just a few minutes away from all of the attractions via the tube. The breakfasts offered a variety of hot and cold foods and got us off on the right foot every day. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. One fellow even spent about 15 minutes showing us how the free (yes, I said free) laundry services worked. The room was clean and modern, the bed was very good, and the microwave, refrigerator, dishes and dishwasher gave us extra choices that made our stay very enjoyable. On top of that, the view of the Olympic Village was amazing. The Staybridge Suites was the perfect place for us.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Olympic Park
