I booked this hotel personally 6 months before my visit and paid for 2 nights then knowing that it was Jubilee weekend in London. Three months later I personally checked the booking as I was feeling uneasy about it and sure enough no record of it! The manager then insisted that I prove that I had made the booking and so emailed him a copy of the credit card statement and asked him to confirm the booking by email. Thank goodness I did. When I finally arrived for my 2 nights the unwelcome that I received from the manager felt like the third degree. Again I had to prove to him I had a booking and so accessed my emails to show him his email of confirmation to me. I would have left at this stage if I hadn't paid. With this reception there was no way I would have been able to get a refund from him.
The breakfast was very limited and again met with unfriendliness. No one welcomed guests. The choice was cornflakes or weetabix. Yoghurt but no fruit. Cooked breakfast consisted of fried or scrambled eggs and a very little amount. The dishes were washed by hand and dried by tea towel. No dishwasher in sight. We ate in the kitchen area.
I am aware that accommodation in London is expensive but at £55pppn this did not represent value for money. A B&B within 2 miles with large, sunny, modern room with double bed, large bathroom with bath and a cooked breakfast of your choice on a quiet street is £45. The nearest Travelodge provides a family room with bath and full English breakfast for £47.
The free wi fi in the rooms was a positive.

Room Tip: I had a single room perhaps a foot wider than the single bed. It was facing the road and it was nois...

When we arrived we were escorted to the attic room, which had enough room for 2 single beds and nothing else, approx 3 metres x 3 metres, the toilet cistern was broken and there was no toilet paper, and the door would only close if you slammed it shut. With the suitcases in the room too, there was no standing room. We trekked back down the 4 stories to reception to advise the concierge of the broken toilet and he advised that it would be fixed that afternoon.
On leaving the place at 6pm we advised the new concierge that the toilet was still broken and he gracefully relocated us to another room, which turned out to be the basement. This wasnt any problem at all except there was only an extra square metre of room but now we were under the kitchen and had the wonderful experience of listening to the staff trapse around the kitchen to all hours of the night and again getting breakast ready from 6am in the morning.
To top it off, they had the smallest ensuites we have ever seen anywhere in the world, you had to literally sit on the toilet with your knees under and on only one side of the vanity basin and hold onto it. The shower was just about unusuable because there wasnt enough room to bend to wash your feet. The whole ensuite would have measured 1.8m x 0.9m (6' x 3') in total. How this passes OH&S is beyond me, cause if you collapsed in the shower, ensuite or even the room, emergency services would never be able to get you out, they would just have to block off the room and leave you there. And I am sure the owners would do that because when asked what they were planning on charging over the Olympic period they said about 1 1/2 times what we paid. My recommendation would be, pay the extra and stay somewhere else, we have always had the attitiude that the accomodation is only somewhere to sleep and shower, but this was ridiculous. We travel every year all over the world and we have sayed in one worse place.

Room Tip: Dont do it.

Hotel was clean, comfortable, good staff, free wifi as i was on a budget this Hotel suited me as i only paid £ 65.00 for a Double En suite Room it meant that i had more money to spend at the Boxing Day sales at Westfield Shopping Centre which was walking distance from my Hotel. Transport links are ok too. The Hotel Maid regularly cleaned my room and the management was helpful too. The Hotel offered me a 25% discount on my next stay so i will be back.

Room Tip: Try and ask for a room at the back the street noise can be bad.
