“Adequate Anchor”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2014

We dined here between performances at the Globe and loved the location and history. Enjoyed the "Codfather" fish/chips/mushy peas and a pint of Tribute a pale ale. Reasonably priced/ok food.

“A Great Find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2014

A block off the main Tower Bridge Road, I wouldn't have found Anchor Tap except for the reviews here. Food and beers were excellent and reasonably priced, service friendly, and the upstairs dining room was unexpectedly luxurious. We went two nights in a row and all loved it.

“Thumbs up for The Anchor Tap”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

A group of us visited the anchor tap earlier in the week for a spot of light lunch and a drink. The 'light' lunch turned into a bit of a feast as the food smelt gorgeous and we liked the look of what fellow diners had. We had lovely starters, which were reasonably priced at around 2.50. I then had a battered cod and chips which was so tasty I was well impressed...the fish which was cod was huge and the batter was yummy, the chips were like proper home cooked ones which added to the yumminess!!!! a couple of my friends had the tasty steak and bitter pie, and one had a tower burger which looked amazing. great portions sizes for really reasonable The drinks were cheap and my fella loved the range of english beers that they had on offer. the bar staff were great and the food was quick and presented nicely. over all i would recommend this place to people wanting a down to earth atmosphere with great food and drink.

Wow stumbled upon this place and what i found was a real gem in the shad Thames's area, ...where do i start, here goes ...great pub, great beers( English),, a beer garden , pool table, darts, fantastic historic building and most off all great prices and a good range of proper beers ...that's not all folks ..lovely helpfull staff ...especially the barman with the beard ...who was so helpfull and quite a character ....no music no tv ...just people talking and enjoying there drinks , ive read what the other people have put on here and if you weren't happy with this gorgous little pub and what it offers ...then you probably need to jog on to the totaly soulless weatherspoons around the corner , we stumbled on it and we stumbled out ....cant wait to get back and try the food this time ...and hopefully get the barman's number too ...anchor trap as we didnt want to leave
