Staying 12/25/13 to 1/6/14. Our 2 Bedroom, 2.5 bath apartment is extremely comfortable and completely furnished. The full kitchens are well stocked with everything needed for cooking and are equipped with 100% Miele appliances including washer and dryer. Solid core doors on all rooms assure privacy and a quiet night's sleep. The gym is nice with adequate cardio and universal equipment. The front desk staff is very courteous and helpful with everything from printing boarding passes to recommending restaurants. This particular Cheval Residence is located directly behind the Gloucester Road Underground. I prefer apartments to hotel rooms for any lengthy stay while traveling and this is the best apartment I have rented to date. I only have two minor recommendations: a) Offer foam pillows in addition to feather pillows and b) Put CNN on HD television line-up. A big shout out to Mark at the front desk for a great recommendation for a pre-theatre dinner at L'Escargot on New Years Eve.

By the end of December my husband and I will have spent 349 days in a one bedroom apartment, 2 bath, kitchen, and reception area at this chain.

We found 1/5th of the staff as doing their job consistent with a 4 or 5 star property, the other 4/5ths could care less.

Standards here are well below what the price tag warrants. Typical hotel furnishings, horrible beds (two full beds pushed together for a king) bland kitchen design with nice china but mismatched and damaged cookware and second rate utensils.

There were holes in the drapes, and when the sun shined in we were awakened and the drapery looked like Swiss cheese. It took a few months for housekeeping/vendor to rectify with new drapes. Until then, we thought it looked like slum living. There were also stains on the pillows & rugs and the bed sheets (300 thread count, not luxury) had tears and/or grease marks, towels were good but we did not get face cloths.

Our bathroom needed a new showerhead due to leaking when we moved in, you would think the staff would notice before we did? The ceiling paint was cracked and peeling, again, over the months not one person said a thing (and we kept the door open to shower because there is no fan!). Zero drawers in bathroom. If you have toiletries they ALL have to fit on a tiny shelf - sloppy and messy to leave stuff out all day/all year.

Housekeeping was inconsistent for the first 5 months; sheets not changed, dirty towels left or put back on the racks, no vacuuming, left mirrors dirty, dirty footprints in the tub after cleaning it, and she left bin door unlocked, which is a safety issue! When we asked for a new housekeeper we were so happy - she did an A+ job every time.

I was not impressed with the security, doors were left open and/or unattended numerous times, limited view of doors from CCTV and then CCTV was removed so tenants could not view who entered & exited the building. I was disturbed multiple times in a month with doorbell ringing from staff despite asking in writing 6 times to please schedule an appointment for any needed access.

We experienced second-hand cigarette smoke from other guest apartments and the staff smoking in hallways, stairwells and offices. This is one of the few hotel/residences in London that does not designate smoking/non-smoking rooms. How they manage to get American corporate accounts to book here is amazing. We would have never lived here if we knew this - it is not worth it. If you're working with a relo service you need to check as ours didn't outline smoking policy. And, we should have reviewed our lease with an independent lawyer so the brochure promises actually match what the landlord/building actually are legally required to provide a tenant.

Management at this location was at a high turn-over; 3 during our stay. These people are lazy, rude, unprofessional and follow no work ethic. Furthermore, the obvious dislike for the American guest is at an all-time high.

When we arrived the first day the concierge referred to us negatively, and about our nationality. One concierge in particular disregarded me at all times, so 1930's! And, when asking for cabs it was close to impossible to get one from this concierge. A few concierge couldn't give directions or knew how far (distance or time) our destination was when asked!.

Bottom line is that the employees in the UK are under contract no matter what position they are in, no matter what company they work for. That means that they are locked in to their salary and job security for the length of their contract. Hence, BAD SERVICE.

And, the Internet service was managed by a third party. Mine was hacked. I've lived all over the country (USA) and never had a security issue, I'm in the UK for a few months and bam...hacking.

I would not recommend this Cheval Residence - also known as Gloucester Park Apartments.

I have been visiting London frequenty for many years and I have stayed in various hotels, holiday rentals, residences, etc. at different locations througout London and this has been my best experience, so far.

The common areas and the flat itself were perfectly clean, taking into consideration the British standards (which are not very high).

The location is perfect, being close to several supermarkets and an underground station.

The kitchen-ware and utensils were sufficient and in pretty good shape so we had no hesitations using them.

The welcome basket was a nice touch and extremely helpful.

The only unreasonable issue for me was that they collected the 1000 Pounds deposit at the time of booking which was around 1 month ahead of the trip. In my opinion, it should be charged during check-in.

Otherwise, I would highly recommend this facility.

My family and I stayed at GP for 10 days. The staff were very polite throughout and the apartments were amazing.

It was pleasant to have your groceries done for you when you enter the apartment. There was enough food to prepare breakfast for many days. This was much appreciated after a 12 hour flight from Asia.

Check-in was very fluid with the concierge staff also escorting us to the apartment and briefing us on the apartment's facilities.

It has the qualities of a top hotel in London with the addition of having a kitchen and beautiful grounds. I recommend this place to any long stay traveller to London.

Room Tip: Get an apartment facing the front garden and also one that has 2 toilets.

We stayed in a one bedroom Cheval Gloucester Park apartment with two kids for one week in our last week in London before moving abroad. The rooms are spacious for central London, the facilities (kitchen, bath, toilet) in a very good condition and there was a lot of attention to detail. The kitchen is equipped with a Nespresso Coffee Machine and a complementary number of capsules. Equally complementary was the bottle of champagne and a selection of deli products, such as honey, crackers, cereals etc.
The people at the reception were very attentive and helpful. They always greeted our son by his name and were very quick if we asked for help.
It is a great experience to live in this place.

Room Tip: north side rooms face the road, but they also have a great view over the city of London. the rooms a...

We spent a week in London earlier this month. We were most impressed with the Cheval. Not only its location - close to supermarkets, tube station, cafes but its amenities.

Every part of the complex was first class. The welcome pack was enough for our breakfast for the week. The kitchen was terrific and had everything possible. From corkscrews to scissors, different sizes of glasses and the list goes on.

Very helpful desk staff and a very safe environment. I would highly recommend this property to others.

I know that if we are back in London again, we would use the Cheval Residences.
