Tucked away off Oxford St, this was a Welcombe break from the rush and bustle of a Sunday shopping. Food is available, but we just had beer and coke. Surprisingly quiet, and very inviting.
We stopped in for lunch while in London. They had just opened when we went in. They are a sandwich and drink special for lunch. The two ladies working at the time weren't the most attentive, but they got the job done. We ordered our sandwiches and sat down.
I was pleasantly surprised how good the sandwiches were. We had ham and cheese and roasted vegetables with goat cheese.
I would try it again.
Visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, yes lots of older guys but all well mannered and enjoyed a bit of bar play trading as lots of eye contact was made! Ended with a great BJ by an older gentleman in the toilets! There was a lot of movements to and fro toilet area so looked like lots of easy going fun being had! Would defibatley go back and hopefully another great BJ!

I arranged to meet a friend there last night for a drink and chat. I have been a regular for many years but hadn't been for a few months, it was impossible to hold a conversation as the music was so loud, you even had to shout to order a drink! You expect loud music downstairs but not in the main bar where you just want to relax and chat to friends. I was told by another regular that many people had complained about the music but nothing was done. It makes one wonder if this is being done to drive the regulars out!
The service was not how it used to be. The place was full of tourists and I felt they were homing for this type of clienteles instead of the loyal customers who have been coming here for more than 20/30 years. Management needs to acknowledge staff on the history of the pub, so they know how to serve and present themselves to the existing customers. Staff needs to be professional, for example being aware of their body language or not to gossip among themselves, towards their customers, by staring and whispering. In my opinion, good businesses should make all customers to feel welcome and appreciated.
