Description: Gokyuzu is owned and run by us, the Yavuz family, and has been since we first opened our doors to the restaurant in the popular Green Lanes area of Harringay in 1999. As a family business it was vitally important to us that everyone worked well as a team. We took a lot of care in selecting great chefs and training our front-of-house staff to understand the Gokyuzu way of doing things… with warmth and generosity. Nothing is too much trouble in our restaurant. Our customers are our guests: just as they would be in our home. We think it says a lot about our approach to Turkish dining that some of our most popular dishes are our sharing platters. One of our bestsellers is the “Full Platter” – a combination of lamb shish, chicken shish, adana kebab, lamb ribs, chicken and lamb doner, chicken wings and of course rice and bulgur – and we believe that it’s popular because it encapsulates what Gokyuzu is about: everyone can try a little bit of everything and enjoy the experience of communal dining and sharing food and time with others. We always intended to create a home-from-home restaurant; a warm dining experience, where diners can relax and staff are happy. This is what makes a great Turkish restaurant. Of course, it’s also fabulous when we hear that diners who are visiting from Istanbul believe our kebabs are better than the ones they get at home. It makes us feel that we’ve achieved our goal: a truly authentic Turkish restaurant in London. We look forward to welcoming you to Gokyuzu

I have to agree - This one is the best turkish restaurant outside Turkey I have ever eaten in. The service is friendly, attentive, the ingredients are fresh and the food quality is amazing. Bread and Pides are freshly baked, the meat grilled on chargrill. Huge choice of dishes. I felt like on holiday in Turkey.

I am a very fuzzy eater- I have to be, due to a lot of allergies to artificial flavourings and food additives. But this restaurant is just amazing. All freshly prepared and home made. Just natural, healthy food. Food how it should be. And all that for not much money!
They even pack your leftovers to take home with you, if you want. Like this my partner and I had enough for another two meals!
If you're in the area - stop by. If you are planning to go with a group - it is better to reserve online or by phone, as this restaurant is very popular and crowded. Even on weekdays.
It was surely not the last time we ate there. What a stunning experience.

This place is so busy that every things goes so quickly. So if you want a fresh fresh food , I absolutely recommend them. We have ordered from the special menu and the food we got for 2 people , has lasted us for 5 portions. This is a must go restaurant if you are passing by Turkish town of London.

The food here is amazing, freshly cooked, beautiful salad to start, complimentry, and baklava with tea to finish. A large menu with yes a lot of meat...this is a Turkish, but also a daily veg stew, vegi mezes. It is always busy, but you never wait too long, even new years eve we got a table after 15mins......definately the best Turkish in town.

The food at this place is amazing, but is not really a place for vegetarians as there will be plate-loads of meat being served everywhere around you. My husband and I have gone here several times and it is by far the best Turkish food we've ever had. The waiters are really nice, the waitresses not so much, but it is still great. We always order the set meal/platter for 2 and we never finish it because there is so much food! (Ask to take the rest home in a box - you'll have enough for another meal). If you manage to have any room for dessert, you must try their delectable baklava and Turkish tea - wow. I only wish they could have better toilet facilities as, if I remember correctly, there are only two and there's almost always someone waiting to use one. Also, this place is really easy to get to from London Bridge on bus. Make the effort to go up to Haringey, and you'll be well pleased you did.
