I have been twice to this excellent restaurant in North London's Green Lanes. Once on a cold Sunday night in early July 2012 and once again last night. On both occasions the restaurant was not only full to the brim but also a decent sized queue had formed. The food is exquisite; the service is outstanding and the ambience is to die for.
One is greeted at the entrance by a series of chefs preparing an entire selection of meats and kebabs and salads whereupon the Maitre D asks you how many seats you need. A short wait is normal and the restaurant seems to turn around tables in rapid succession, yet no-one seems hurried.
Once seated in an usual shaped restaurant which seems to side to the back forever, you are served with bread and dip which is delicious together with a large salad plate, easily manageable by two people.
Some mezes are chosen from the ample menu and a beer or two (Efes is great) and then the mains arrive; we were smart enough not to chose the Mixed Grill which looks superb but way beyond my eating capability now.
We chose two different kebabs which were filling enough with the rice, bread, salad and the hot chilli on the side.
To finish we chose tea and the complimentary Baklava. Our bill was about 27 pds.
Quite honestly this is the best Turkish food I have had outside Turkey. Well done and Teshakur.
