Openng window, climate control, plenty storage and plug sockets. Super breakfast. Comfortable beds, well designed small bathroom. Highly recommended for the money

Jazzy decor, steps down to the main lifts (difficult for heavy cases although there is a disabled lift for those who need it - why not a small ramp??!!) and a funny smell were what hit us first.

The room was...adequate... with minimum expected amenities. It had a desk which was good.
The quiet of the room was not helped by the building work outside, not the hotel's fault but still a factor in our stay.
The beds were not comfy with sorry mattresses covered by a thin layer of foam.
The bathroom was really nasty. A 'bijou' self contained plastic pod with little basin, tiny shower (which pumped alternatively hot and cold on a 1 second rotation) and had a large step up into it (weird and not good for those who had been to a few parties!) and really tight on space.
For a cheap B&B it would be okay, clean and functional, but we were asked to pay a lot of money in advance (presumably, in the past, people who stay there for one night move elsewhere unless trapped financially) and expecting a lovely stay.
The breakfast was good but not outstanding - pastries, bacon/sausage/hash browns/beans/scrambled egg. Juice from a machine, tea/coffees from a machine, toast making, cheese/yoghurts and a little fruit on offer. All self service but good clearing from the staff.
This is a poor rating because of the amount of money we paid and the expectation from a hotel near the ExCeL.
My advice - find out which end of the ExCeL your event is taking place and choose your hotel accordingly - we had a 1/2 mile walk every day. If you're up by the ICC Auditorium stay at the ALoft or Ramada. If you're at the other end, this hotel will be okay for you not to get wet or cold at night.

Room Tip: Whilst the building work for the Heathrow cross rail is going on, try to get a room at the back of t...

Dear Sir / Madam

Thank you for your review of your recent stay and we're sorry we failed to meet your expecations on this occasion.

Our hotel is newly refurbished throughout including new beds, a fresh vibrant colour scheme throughout and an inclusive freshly cooked breakfast and free Wi-Fi.

We do have a choice of rooms and bathroooms and are able to assist at the time with an alternative choice if this isn't to your liking. All our bathrooms are approved by Ibis.

A ramp in the reception isn't appropriate due to the space and we are on hand to provide assistance if required. The lift is essential to ensure we remain compliant with the Disabled Persons Act.

Our rates at the hotel do vary according to demand and are always inline with our competitors in the area and remain highly competitive. As you mentioned, durng quieters periods, our rates do reduce, the same as at other hotels.

We do hope to welcome you back and appreciate your feedback regarding your stay.

We visited London in July 2014 and stayed in Ibis Styles for 7 days. We were a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) Check in process even though confirmed online was a bit lengthy. But the staff were very courteous and allowed us to rest in the lounge and use their facilities while we waited. The delay seems to have been due to some online glitch while booking the rooms. We had opted for 2 adjoining rooms which were not readily available. Hence the 1 hr wait. There is only one pair of lifts for each floor and are located towards the end of the floor. This means you may have to walk a considerable distance to your room and lift depending on where your room is. The rooms were clean and bathrooms were tidy even though the rooms were quite small. We had problems with Free Wi-fi and then again with the room extension. Technician did come around to fix it but the extension phone stopped working one day later and we didn't bother to complain again.
The area was undergoing construction activities as part of the new railway line coming up and the roads had very restricted access. From day 4 onwards, the direct access to the nearest DLR (LIght Rail) (which is about 2 mins walk via direct route) was restricted. DLR didn't run on 2 days while we were there. Replacement bus services are not as efficient as expected and might actually cause delays with the long route which takes you to Canning Town from where you have to take the Underground to get to the city.
Hotel is located in a residential area and can get a bit noisy at night with people talking outdoors. But better to opt for rooms which do not face out onto the road since there is construction activity happening 24/7 which can be noisier.
Hotel restaurant closes down by 10, which I think is a bit too early. There is a pub attached to the hotel which stays open till about 12. There are restaurants and take aways around the hotel which offers cheaper and tastier food options. Opt for the hotel breakfast which offers a very good spread. The senior gentleman (Indian) who serves the customers in the breakfast room is extremely helpful and very friendly. Breakfast does not have many options for complete vegans but for us with children in the group, we had a filling breakfast every day.
Overall, good value for money. Will definitely recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: Opt for rooms away from the road. Opt for free breakfast, if possible. Double-check your booking p...

We used the hotel as a base to explore London. The hotel is near to the Docklands Light Railway giving access to Central London in about 20 minutes. The hotel cost was very reasonable and included breakfast and WIFI. The room was small but clean with all the essentials, the staff were pleasant and helpful. If you are looking for a value for money hotel on the East side of London (particularly good access from the M11) then this is one to consider.

Room Tip: Ask for a fan if the room has no air conditioning

Dear Michael

Thanks for the review of the hotel and we're pleased you enjoyed your stay.

We've got a great location for exploring London but theres also a lot to do in the area with the Cable Car and historic Greenwich on our doorstep incuding the O2.

There are some other room options available including our apartments which are of a plusher standard and carry a small supplement but with our newly refubished rooms available at nice rates, then the choice is always yours. We're happy to help.

Meantime, we hope to see you soon and thanks again

Stayed at this hotel for 6 days last month. I must say it was a great value for the price & comfort.
The breakfast (included in the price) offered had a good variety to give a perfect start to the day.
The breakfast team, specially Ashwin and Mokter, were very helpful and cordial. Ashwin advised us good off-beat tourist places to visit and one day he even gave us a discount coupon for shopping at Stratford Centre. The hotel location is not far away from the London bridge station. I would love to stay there again on next visit to London.

Stayed here with my son for 3 nights and thought it was good value for London in august(paid £200).Room was just the right size and was very clean.Staff were fantastic but a special mention to the man in charge of breakfast as he was very good at his job.The DLR is only a short walk from the hotel and we were in central london in 30 minutes. Its true that you get what you pay for but this hotel is great value for money and i would return here again.
