“The sort of service you usually only get abroad - outstanding”
Reviewed 11 September 2011

I recently stayed at this hotel for a conference and it was outstanding. It provided the sort of service you usually only associate with hotels in Asia.

The rooms were adequate (though not large) but to an extremely high standard with all the ameneties.

The food was spectacular and not to be missed.

Staff were helpful and clearly excellently trained.

The location was outstanding, with Westminster and all the main attractions a mere short walk away.

Quite honestly, the best hotel in the UK I have stayed in for a quite reasonable budget.

Beautiful hotel recently refurbished to a good standard. Very friendly staff. Less than a minute to the tube. Downside is the layout of the junior suite. very impractical once sofa bed is open. It blocks access from bedroom to bathroom. Also flat screen tv protrudes slightly into the doorway. Wouldn't stay in suite again if needed to open out sofa bed

Stayed here for three nights with husband and two children. Lovely room (not a lot of hanging or drawer space but very comfy beds and great decor). Excellent breakfasts and a super location. Represented really good value for money. The hotel had a complete refurb in the spring, never saw it before but it is beautiful now.

Intended to stay 3 nights, but stayed 6 because of Hurricane Irene in NYC. Management was totally responsive. Staff always attentive and very helpful. Restoration spectacular. St. Ermin's once regularly housed members of Parliament, who attended votes in Parliament via a tunnel with entrance (now closed) in the hotel lobby. Others have described the location; could not be more convenient to the most beautiful parts of London. Hotel is still completing some parts of its renovation. Garden was becoming more lush by the day. Outdoor patio above the entrance porch was peaceful, enjoyable. Beds were great. Queen rooms small, but very well appointed and fine for us (married couple.) Some minor problems with ventilation in our hallway during the construction of the attached office section, but assume this will be corrected. Claims to be 4 stars, and is. Highly recommended.

The St. Ermins Hotel has just had a major face lift. Very bright, fresh and clean.
It is in a very convenient position, Buckingham Palace in one direction and The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey in the other, both, approx 15 mins walk away for a lady of 85yrs.
The staff deserve a mention here, from having our taxi met by a man in a bowler hat and uniform, who also gave us directions daily to our tourist destinations, The bar staff who helped us to choose the best cocktails, to suit our individual tastes. The restaurant staff who brought forward the time for afternoon tea, so that we could enjoy it, and still have time to catch our train home. The Consierge who offered to take a family photo and positioned us, so as to get us in and the best view of the magnificent stair case. You get the idea - we had a great trip, and this hotel helped to make it special.
Thank you St. Ermins.

Room Tip: We booked with HotelDirect, and had no problems.

My partner and I stayed for two nights in September, 2011.
From the moment the taxi pulled up outside, we realised that this was a special hotel.
Just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Westminster and Buckingham Palace, the hotel itself is secluded and quiet.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and within minutes of arriving we had already checked in and were in our room ready to explore London.
The hotel itself was spotless and our room was very spacious and the bed extremely comfortable.
And after a long day exploring the sites of London, it was wonderful to return to the hotel and end the evening by having a drink on the terrace in the peace and tranquility of it's surroundings.
We would readily recommend this hotel to everyone and will definitely be returning as soon as we can.

This is a lovely hotel, in a fab location. Easy walk to Westminister Abbery, Southbank. Has a tube station almost next door too. Only regret is the location was so great we were out all the time and didn't enjoy a wine or high tea on the lovely terrace!

Room Tip: Twin rooms are a bit squashed but very modern and clean
