We stayed for 2 nights at the St Georges Hotel in Pimlico in London. The hotel was really good but there were a couple of niggles - the room was quite small but had everything we needed - en-suite, tea & coffee, etc. The hotel is actually two hotels which are at no.115 (which is where the reception is) and at 107 (which is where our room was). Also the room was 3 flights of stairs up - there is no lift. Breakfast was in no.115 - it was really good - well cooked and well presented. The staff were very good and helpful. All in all a really good stay and I would use the hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for room hear the front door - ground level!!

I've stayed at the Saint Georges Hotel a few times. Its close by the Tube station as well as in a cute little neighborhood with bars and markets not too far. The breakfast that's included is just as satisfactory. The beds and furniture are old and could be replaced. Other than the older furniture, its a charming place to stay.

Those who frequent England will know what I mean -- a hotel with the wear and tear of time all too common in England and that many English regard as "character" -- really an excuse to tolerate the "patina" of many years or use. This hotel badly needs refurbishment.

But -- there are saving graces. These include an excellent location close to Oxford Circus, one of the best dining room views anywhere in London (on the fifteenth floor and with a panoramic lots-of-windows view) and really interesting bedroom and hallway framed covers and articles from the old English magazine "Radio Times." The hotel is located almost next to the BBC broadcasting building, so the theme makes sense. I got stuck in the hallway several times looking at the fabulous art deco artwork and reading about how to listen to a radio in 1924.

The hotel and restaurant staff were very good -- helpful, knowledgeable, attentive, working hard. They seem to all be from Eastern Europe and other places (frequently the best people for hotel staff, and this hotel recognizes this).

Room Tip: Ask for a room as high up as possible -- nice views. The top floor (dining room) is on the fifteenth...

Thanks to Edward B for his feedback. As has been said already the Saint Georges is gearing up for a pretty large makeover involving the bedrooms, public areas including Heights with its fabulous views as Edward has mentioned - also to create a Skybar/Roof Gardens on the floor above!

Thanks again.

Saint Georges hotel is nicely located in the heart of London with Oxford Circus and Soho within a walking distance.

Rates are very competitive but does that really outweigh the obvious need for refurbishment everywhere inside this establishment? It appears that nothing much has been touched since the '80s. Things do work but you just need to wind back to the good ole times.

A big minus for crappy lighting in rooms. A big plus for quietness and good beds.

Room Tip: Apparently all rooms are quiet.

Just returned after a 4 day stay.
We have stayed here before but despite that and having read the recent reviews were somewhat disappointed ... because we booked a superior room, but the upgrade was only noticeable in so far as we received complimentary slippers, bathrobes, toiletries. Sadly, the room had maintenance problems - loose sockets, a reading light that sometimes worked, flickerlingly at low light, sometimes not, draughty windows, curtains which were not fully attached to the rail, and stained carpets (wouldn't want to go barefoot); the bed linen was clearly freshly laundered but had brown stains at chin level - gross! It was frequently cold in the room, and the bedding was just a simple blanket, not a cosy duvet, rather inadequate. My husband used the bathrobe as additional cover. The mattress was comfortable. The room was otherwise well equipped, with a safe, ironing board, small table and two chairs plus desk and chair. The bathroom was ok but lacked any facility for hanging used towels. It also had no shaving / cosmetic (magnifying) mirror. The water pressure was very strong and plenty of hot water. The shower was over the bath.
The views are fantastic, especially from the top floor restaurant where breakfast is served.
The staff there were friendly and efficient. Food was fine.
The fact that we were cold a lot of the time and the stains on the carpet and linen means we won't be returning but realise we probably have to pay more elsewhere (this cost under £600 for 4 nights including breakfast).

There are many good points about the hotel and if to address those little negative issues - I would have put 5 star!
Positive - location (just 5 min from Oxford Circus), friendly staff, easy check in, a room with everything you need and comfortable bed!
Free WiFi

Important to note - if you are coming for a couple of days - there are free welcome pack toiletries provided (really luxury selection) and a complementary 2 bottles of water for a double room!
Bath+shower - lovely with marble floor and quite compact, good towels, dressing gowns and sleeper!
Negative - just needs a bit of updating of paint there and then, put new plugs in the bath and to renew it silicon sealant in the bath and make sure the windows could be shut tight! without cold air blowing in the gaps.
and that is all!!!
I booked it through a booking site and got a good deal in my opinion. So for some 30 pounds extra comparing to an everage B&B/Hotel rate around this area - I am very happy what I got!

The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The view from our room was wonderful and the room was lovely. Clean sheets and towels daily, replenished tea, coffee, milk and biscuits daily without question. The location was fabulous, a couple of minutes walk and you are on Regent Street and it only took us 20 minutes slow wander to get to Leicester Square. We are coming back to London next year and I would not have any hesitation staying here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: The higher up the better the view, the rooms at the back are so quiet you would never know you were...
