“An unexpected pleasure ...”

Battersea Park is, to our minds, one of the most beautiful parks in London, and at the same time one of the least known. It's very much a Londoners' park - very few tourists, but lots of walkers, joggers, cyclists, dog walkers and pushers of prams. It's a big park - probably at least a kilometre of frontage along the south bank of the Thames - but it has great diversity - a children's zoo, a Peace Pagoda, a vast lake alive with ducks and moorhens, an outdoor tropical garden, a fountain square, and (our favourite) a well-concealed English garden which recalls the Kipling gardens in Rottingdene, East Sussex. Just across the Thames from Chelsea. An unexpected pleasure ...

“Lovely park in the middle of London”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

We were staying just across the river for our wedding anniversary and had been told what the park was like so we went over there one afternoon.
It's a lovely place to go and you can really get away from it all by finding your own little spot.
Lots of variety and great way to relax and waste away an hour or two.
We liked it so much we went back the following day, armed with a picnic and some wine.
Lovely.

“fun thing with kids”

We go to Battersea park quite often when we see our grandparents and we always take a walk in the park and meet new friends. If you dont like slides and swings then just go for the peddle bikes to ride around and just take in pretty views. You can see the battersea power station. If it is a lovely summers day then you can go to the ice cream van.

“Battersea Park Tardis”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2014

After first driving around the park, we were surprised by the size and variety of things to do in Battersea Park. There is a road that runs through the corner and one side of the Park and a large Car Park near the Embankment over looking the Thames and near the beautiful Peace Pagoda. But to really get to know the Park, take the footpaths around the Lakes and Gardens and see the many different things there are to do.

For Sports enthusiasts, there is a complete Athletics Track as well as an exercise area for Push Ups, Pull Ups, Press ups and any other activity you would like to train with, all fenced up and no dogs allowed. For Children, there is the Children's Zoo, Adventure Playgrounds and a Land Train that runs in the peak season.

For us non sporty and Children all grown up people, the walks are marvelous, the gardens lovely and the cafe's teaming with a variety food. At this time of year the boats all seem tethered up and the Bike hire shop was closed but another time............!

Relaxing park in the middle of London but let's you feel like you're away from all the hustle and bustle!
Plenary of ways to keep children occupied. It always plays host for so many events!
