“Confortable and ok location”
Reviewed 8 January 2014

I was satisfied with the hotel. Our room was rather large (larger than the one our friends stayed in) and clean. the price is really ok for what it offers. The personnel was really helpfull and nice. The location is also very nice: long quite street only with hotels, 5 minutes away from Hyde Park and very close to several subway lines. Though we read before that breakfast is terrible it was really not so bad - just the same think every day.

We are a party of 4 with 2 adults and 2 children staying in a family room. The hotel is in a great location and on a road gull of hotels and guest houses so has a tourist feel.
The hotel was clean and the room was also clean and tidy.
The breakfast was simple yet satisfying and the staff at breakfast were great, especially with the kids.

the only downside was that the bed clothes we not great. Single sheets on the double and the over blanket had a burn hole in it! Not that we had to use it as the heating was really good.

overall a fairly decent place for a night in London if you just want somewhere to sleep.

This is the perfect hotel if your not too fussy. Its in a great location for exploring London. Staff friendly and very helpful. We were in a quad room. 2 adults and 2 kids. Tea/coffee facilities not in room but there is a room opposite reception with these facilities.
Only complaint: Breakfast is not what it says on their website and dining room was packed. Couldn't get table.

Clean room for our family of 4. Small but quiet and 5 mins walk to the tube or bus. Breakfasts were not worth getting up for. Would stay again. Staff were a bit abrupt when we asked for another blanket but we just turned the heating up.

This hotel is in a very good location, literally two minutes walk from Paddington. The rooms are small but clean and the ensure bathrooms seem new and very modern. This r positives end.

Here is the list of bad points:
Towels changed every two days irrespective if they are dirty or not. Each bathroom got just one tiny soap tje size of a 50p coin for the 4 day stay. We shared this between three!! The cups in the bathroom were never cleaned.

There was no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. These were only available in the lounge downstairs but the 6 odd mugs there would soon disappear and staff would not replace them!

The absolute worst thing about this hotel was the breakfast. Very poor food - processed cheese, spam, hard boiled eggs and 2.5 slices of toast per two people. There was also corn flakes and bran flakes, tea and coffee, a disgusting yellow drink that was labelled orange juice, butter and jam. Apart from that it is run by a handful of east European women who hardly spoke English and ran this poor excuse of a breakfast room like a Gulag!! Forget asking for more toast as you will be almost shouted down. As there isn't enough place to accommodate everyone there would be a queue of people siting on the stairs waiting to be called in by some sobering battle axe!! Woe betide you if you try to go and sit down without their prrnission! As a group we never managed to have breakfast together! The reason why, is because the time allotted for breakfast was a mere 75 minutes, from 7.30 and 8.45 SHARP! These women then had to clear up and then clean our rooms and then sweep the road in front of the hotel and all the other jobs that need doing! Never again!!

Good things about the hotel: location (quite close to the Paddington station, so you can get anywhere in London in about 20/30 minutes); overall it's clean; it's probably cheap (good if you're on a budget).

Bad things about the hotel: the staff was nice but sometimes not really helpful, just saying "I can't do anything", "that's strange" and that's all; the rooms are quite small (my mate stayed in a room where he couldn't even open the bathroom door properly); the towels are not changed; the internet costs £5 and sometimes it just not works (unless you're near the reception); the breakfast is really low standard and served just until 8.45 (!!!); at some point we saw a man half naked complaining some rooms were out of hot water (but we didn't have that problem though).

Next time I probably won't stay there, maybe it's better to spend a few extra pounds and stay in a better place. But cheers to the cleaning ladies, who seemed really professional.
