We stayed at the hotel for two nights prior and after the marathon. It is located about a mile from the start area and 0.7 mile from Greenwich centre. The hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming and the room was very clean. Travelodge provide basic clean accommodation with no frills but at a competitive price and we felt we had value for money as rooms in similar hotels elsewhere were much more expensive.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Greeted warmly on arrival which was nice. Room basic but clean, bathroom could have been more meticulous as some wet tissue paper was left by the system. Good powerful shower. Very comfy large double bed. Breakfast was good and plenty to choose from. Area is a bit run down but handy being next to DLR and having a tesco express next door. As a woman travelling on my own I felt safe in the area despite it being a bit run down.

Room Tip: I was in room 401 and there was no sound from the street below.

Rooms are very clean and spacious. Bathrooms are impeccalby neat and clean. The main concern is avail of no restaurants to eat food from. Location is very isolated. Also TV has few good channels......

Excellent value for money. Rooms clean and tidy and not cramped. Hotel staff friendly and welcoming and hotel had a warm atmosphere. Food was always freshly cooked and to a good standard. Transport links for Central London very good with DLR and bus stops within a minutes walk and a mainline station within 5. Would certainly go there again.

Stayed 3 nights at the travelodge and it was as expected. Bed seemed new and was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were spotless. Had a room on the 4 th flr which faced a courtyard area with fountains to the rear so didn't experience traffic noise apart from the seemlingly ever present sirens on the main road. The staff did warn us not to venture out in the direction past the railway bridge bridge as there were "druggies and drunks" in that direction and we did encounter a couple one night whilst crossing back from the railway but did feel safe enough inside the hotel at night with the entrance to the lift area being controlled by the room swipe card. Very convenient for the DLR as it was right across the road and 2 stops from Cutty Sark station for maritime Greenwich and we also walked there one day which was approx a 20 minute walk up the Greenwich High St. Not a lot close to the hotel except for a Tesco and a very pleasant tapas restaurant/bar called Taperia in the new development to the rear of the hotel which we would highly recommend. Staff in the hotel were extremely helpful and even recommended a cafe for breakfast 5 mins walk away when we said we didn't want the all you could eat breakfast in the hotel as we only wanted a snack of toast and coffee.

Room Tip: pick a room to the rear of the hotel which don't have the noise from the road
