My wife and I stayed weekend. Not a great start when the room we were allocated had a strange location looking directly onto a neighbouring rooms balcony, but we were quickly moved when I complained. The room was really lovely, great bed, huge TV, bath & shower. Breakfast was really good (I won't say expensive because all of London is expensive - especially in the City). Staff were excellent. Whilst we didnt use the bar it looked ok. Location was fine just a 10 minute (easy) walk to Covent Garden (or St Pauls). Would definitely use again.

Room Tip: Our first room was 542 - avoid - looks onto neighbouring rooms balcony - 3 feet away!

We were in a standard room - 341 - which was fine in size, very light and sunny with two big windows, one of which you could open. It had a huge tv and we liked the bench seating at the end of the bed to sit and watch it from.

The bed was very large and SO comfortable. Lovely soft mattress topper, high quality feather duvets and pillows, so we slept like logs! We had the window open and it was pin drop quiet on a Saturday night! There is air con if you prefer.

Bathroom was good in size. Very large walk in shower, lovely large deep bath and very nice toiletries. The towels were fine but not super delux.

There was an iron/ironing board in the room, plus hairdryer and safe. The fridge had a fully stocked bar - priced as you would expect, we never use them. The beverage tray had lovely biscuits but mean offering of coffee sachets, just two each. Housekeeping bought more very quickly on request but I felt a 'luxury' hotel should offer a few more to begin with! Bottled water, sparkling and still, were in the room.

The corridors were rather dim and dull, grey being the main colour.

All the staff we met were efficient and courteous. We left our suitcase at 9am at the hotel and when we returned to get our room, it was already in the room waiting for us.

There were two pleasant seating areas adjacent to reception. The breakfast room looked fine, we didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.

The hotel is in an ideal location for exploring London, visiting the theatre etc. We would stay there again without any hesitation.

One of the best hotel I've ever been! excellent and warm staff, state of the art technology in very room (flat screen, HD, free wifi), great location in this beautiful city! all my family love it! I was well surprised by the comfort and luxury, in few minutes you get to London Eye, in seconds to River Thames, very close to the tube or bus, in 15 minutes walking distance to Covent Garden

spent a wonderful night 8th sept ,was really surprised to recieve an upgrade and what a fantastic suite it was, so modern and clean and a huge bathroom with a bath and seperate shower, 2 large flat screen tv,s 1 in lounge and 1 in bedroom, one of the most comfortable beds i have slept in ,and lovely Bulgari bath products, we were in town for a wedding and staying in this lovely hotel made it extra special, also thank you to the concierge deparment who were very helpful and knowledgeable and much more helpful than TFL .i would certainly recommend this hotel and would use apex again if im in another city as well, just one little thing like the pervious review there was no duck in the room but thanks for a wonderful stay

We loved staying here. The hotel is almost new and the room (we got a free upgrade for no particular reason) was superlatively comfortable and luxurious, especially the bed. The electronic fitments were like something out of Star Trek. (Pity though about the ugly cable descending from the wall mounted TV!) The bathroom was a dream, with a separate shower cubicle and huge bath, all chrome and marbled tiles. The renovations of the 18thC law buildings in which the hotel is located must have cost a fortune - there are some evocative photos in the lobby.
Surprisingly, it wasn't that expensive, especially given the location. My wife found a great deal on the net, which even came with a 10 pound drinks voucher. The staff are friendly without being obsequious. If I can afford it I'd certainly like to stay again.

Room Tip: Its worth asking for an upgrade, which seem to be quite readily available at present

We booked this hotel for a weekend theatre break, it looked very good value for money and we got the continental breakfast included.
It's in a good location for everything and on the Sunday morning we wandered down to the river before the taxi to the station arrived and saw the wheelchair marathon fly past, what a bonus!
We were on the top floor in a sort of attic-conversion room which had a lot of character, a massive bed, sofa, tea making facilities, mini bar, iron and ironing board, elemis toiletries in the superb bathroom, bose sound dock and a 46" samsung tv with sky sports etc. Also free wi-fi. I wanted to take this room home with me!
The breakfast was good , A lot of the foreign visitors were experiencing the full English breakfast, this would have cost a reasonable £5 extra but the delicious pastries and toast etc were enough for us.
We were lucky with the weather and the hotel had a barbeque out in the courtyard, it was like being abroad. The only downside was the service in the bar, possibly the staff are quite new but the service was very slow and they made mistakes with our drinks on two occasions. A good experienced manager could rectify this. The service in reception was first class though, as good as any fine star hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Fifth floor rooms overlooking the courtyard seem to be the best

Our first challenge was our taxi driver finding the hotel but once that was sorted out we had no problems. Loved being in the hub of the legal world watching clerks and barristers scurry by.

Big plus was it was a very quiet courtyard location, a rare thing in London. There are lots of eating places nearby but bear in mind at the weekend you choice is much more limited as most places are closed. The hotel restaurant was a fair price, though busy. We had lovely snacks out in the courtyard which was great.

Rooms are to a very high standard, every request is met promptly and with a smile

We know Apex Hotels from before and are delighted to see them in London - at last we have found a good base and as our history of reviews will show we have had some serious frustrations with London hotels this year!

Only sad thing, no ducks have waddled in yet :(

Pps my pc keeps defaulting to saying I have to give feedback on the pool and spa, well the gym is very good indeed and I am sure if there was a pool and spa they would have been also
