“Beautiful Design”
Reviewed 24 February 2013 via mobile

This hotel is gorgeous! We had a girlie weekend going to the Valentino exhibition in Somerset House. Hotel is about 5 mins walk to The Strand. Our room was stunning, great design, comfy beds, sumptuous furnishings, desk, space. We booked direct with the hotel and got a twin, RO for £139, we also got a £10 voucher to spend on drinks or treatments.
The bar had a very welcoming contemporary fire, high back leather chairs - perfect for a night cap.
Polite staff, friendly service, very good 4 star, would recommend and return. Beautiful Hotel. Note, the entrance on Fleet Street is discreet! We almost walked past it.

Great hotel in a great location. Breakfast spread is decent and service is with a smile. Little touches like complimentary shoe cleaning make the stay quite pleasant.

Price is average I guess for a 4 star in the heart of the city.

Lovely stay overall.

Such a hard find in London. A hotel where they really get it. And all within an acceptable Price range . Great staff, breakfast included, compact but large enough rooms and tastefully decorated. I really loved it there. The little duckey in the bathroom was the finishing touch.

I honestly had regretted my prepay reservation, thinking I "should" have booked something closer to Victoria because of an early morning departure. I was wrong. 'We enjoyed the hotel so much that we spent our last night in London staying in, having room service, and luxuriating in our giant room and cushy bathrobes.

The room was huge, the bed was comfortable, the shower was gigantic, everything was super clean and the staff was fantastic. I would be hard pressed to think of any way they could have been nicer.

Our inner courtyard view was evocative of what Serjeant's Inn might have looked like.

Room Tip: The 5th floor was very nice.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are well trained and polite. Overall this is an excellent hotel. The food is very good although I must say that it is hugely overpriced.

Everyone was very polite, keen to help and professional
The room was a good size a little noisy as it faced a small back street but nothing of significance. The bathroom facility was good and the inclusion of tea and coffee making provision appreciated and expected given the price of the room
Location was excellent for the purpose of the visit
The bed and bedding were very comfortable and lighting was good. Shower was powerful and hot.
There was some noise from adjoining rooms but not a great deal - perhaps this was because they were unoccupied?
The hotel accommodated my extended stay without a room move although it was necessary to check in again on the day when I would have been departing. This was not a problem but disconnection of the internet connection at 7am on that day was very unhelpful and should have coincided with the latest time for room vacation at the earliest. A call to the engineer as per the hotel guidance prompted an offer to promote the call to urgent but it would not receive attention until 7.30 - the call came at 9.30 by which time it had been resolved by my rechecking in.

Good hotel, excellent location, friendly staff, beautiful, clean rooms. Unfortunately, dinner in the restaurant was not very good at all - service rather rushed and food not very good at all. Breakfast fine, however. Plenty of better places to eat in the vicinity. (We booked a deal that included dinner - while this seemed like very good value, I would recommend booking another deal and eating elsewhere).
