“New Year 2013”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

We stayed at the Apex Court Hotel at New Year 2013. OK it was a bit on the expensive side for one night - and no breakfast included - but it was 4 STAR. We spent New Years Eve on the HQS Wellington and I wanted a hotel close by so we could get to the ship in the shortest possible time and this hotel fitted the bill - only a 8 minute walk. Very modern, bright, clean and staff very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.

Fantastic hotel in central London. Reception staff were efficient and professional. Our room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable king size bed, TV, Bose music station, well decorated. large bathroom with seperate bath and walk in shower. Elemis spa toiletries.
It is unusual in London for hotels to include breakfast.
This was a very comfortable quiet hotel, i would have no hesitation in returning.

Room Tip: No need to pay for a room upgrade the standard rooms are very large with a king bed

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for New Years Eve due to it's fantastic location close to the embankment. I was amazed when we got to the hotel as although the pictures look good.. It's never normally as good when you're there but this one definitely is! The bed was huge and comfortable as were the plump duvet and pillows. The bathroom was lovely too with a large deep bath AND a separate walk in shower. The room came with a 3D tv as well which was a nice added bonus. We had room service delivered at 3am after the fireworks. Service was very fast and food beautifully presented. Will definitely be returning!

We stayed 9 nights over Christmas / NYE in junior suite 518. This is on the top floor overlooking the Eye and quiet as requested. It was a great base to explore the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Friends also stayed at Apex London Wall and thought it was great.

Room Tip: Recommend 518 if you want a quiet room with extra sitting area and view.

We stayed at this hotel for only one night in Central London. The hotel was difficult for our taxi driver to find though, but this was more a reflection of his lack of knowledge about London than the hotel's fault. The hotel is located within walking distance of Convent Garden and Trafalgar Square. We even took a walk all the way along the Thames to Tower Bridge back to the Houses of Parliament in the evening which was superb.

As is common knowledge, London is a very expensive city. Thus reflecting the price of our stay and breakfast along with taking a taxi to the airport. We did not fancy venturing out during rush hour with heavy luggage using the London transportation system.

The service was professional. The room was clean and modern with 3D TV along with Sky channels, safe, mini bar, hairdryer, towel warming rack etc.

If in Central London and looking for a pleasant stay, I would recommend this hotel. The only one aspect was it lacked a Wow factor, but then we had just come from Dubai with it's luxurious hotels so this almost seemed a step down.

We're at temple court now. Hotel is lovely, great room. Nicely decorated. Location is a bit off the beaten path, but not too bad. However, fire alarm went off numerous times this morning between 7 and 10am. I'm on holiday, it's New Year's Eve. I want yo sleep in. No apology, no acknowledgement. Nothing. Poor service, Apex. Poorly executed. Response should have been swift and apologetic. Nothing. Boo. Shows a disregard forthe guest.

Karl M, General Manager at Apex Temple Court Hotel, responded to this review, 10 January 2014
Dear kbellie,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review during your stay. It was a pleasure to here you thought the hotel was lovely and room nicely decorated.

I would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the fire alarms being raised on the morning of the 31st. The fire alarm was originally activated by a guest that accidentally pressed a break glass emergency point on the ground floor by reception which sent the alarm into full alarm. This was realised immediately and silenced in 20 seconds. However, at the time of resetting this break glass a fault appeared on the fire panel which then resulted in the alarm re sounding another four/five times during the morning whilst an engineer rectified the fault.
Whilst I am sure you can appreciate that the fire alarm is there for the guest safety and that these events that morning were somewhat out of our control, I believe that the team acted in their capacity to minimise the disruption to all of our guests.

A large number of guests did call down to reception to be informed that it was a false alarm, then later that day a letter of explanation and apology was sent out to all guests in the hotel, apologies if you did not receive this letter.

I do hope that the above did not detract too much from an otherwise pleasant stay and that I will have the opportunity to personally welcome you back in the not too distant future.

Kind Regards

Karl Mitchell

This was my first visit to London, and was stressed about where to stay. The costs of hotels are outrageous, as is most everything in the city. I "settled" on this hotel as it was relatively reasonable. It was fantastic! The location was terrific because it was not in the middle of the western side where it was constantly crawling with hoards of people. It is in "the city" and not too far from St. Paul's. I walked there and the Tate Modern from here. The hotel feels new, and has creative and modern design. The breakfasts were very good quality, as was the lounge food and drinks. The bed very comfortable, the bathroom large, there was plenty of storage, and the decor fresh. The staff were all extremely accommodating albeit young. My only complaint would be that in the bathroom there was not a rack to hang my hand towel on, and in the shower there was no rack to put toiletries on, which was odd and frustrating, but you can imagine quite small problems! The rooms have a variety of styles so if you don't like the one you have try and change. My room, 232, overlooked the inner courtyard, but my friend's overlooked a rather noisy alley. However, his bath was absolutely over the top in comparison to mine. I cannot recommend this enough. If I return to London, I'll stay here again!
