“Good location - small rooms”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2013

We were staying in London for 2 days before going on a cruise out of Dover. We wanted a place in Central London where we could walk to the major attractions and was by an Underground station. Since we planned on touring the sites most of the day we were looking for an affordable place and were not worried about any fancy amenities. The price per night for early August was 144 pounds - very reasonable for the area. The hotel was just off Leicester Square and only a block from a tube station - with direct access to Heathrow and Kings Cross./St. Pancras train station. A lot to do and see in the area with many people walking around in the evening - definitely felt safe in the area at night. The rooms were clean but very small - good practice for the cruise ship, as the room was smaller that the Interior cabin we had on the ship. Only complaint was the hot water pipes made banging noises anytime we or our neighbour turned them on. Place is definitely suitable if you're just looking for a comfy bed to sleep in while spending your waking hours seeing the city.

Room Tip: We were on the 7th floor and did not face the square - no view but very quiet

I haven't stayed in a Premier Inn for years and was sceptical from the recent advertising that their hotels would live up to the standard they are portraying. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Friendly welcome from the staff on arrival, no hard sell of the breakfast or other services just simply informed they were there if we wanted them.

The hotel room was clean, a choice of pillows, free view, tea and coffee and a very comfortable bed.

Was disappointed that the eatery next door didn't start breakfast until 10, which meant we did opt for the Premier Inn breakfast and actually were great full! Fresh cooked breakfast items made to order, costa coffee, selections of cereals, pastries and crumpets and all for less than £10 (with as many return visits as we wanted)!!!

Would highly recommend the hotel as a great central location offering a very comfortable and pleasant stay at reasonable prices.

We stayed at the Premier Inn London Leicester Square at the end of our European vacation as London was our last stop.

We arrived after check-in time to find our room was not ready as we requested a high floor and housekeeping had not made up our room. They set to it and within an hour we were in our room. Front desk staff (Fernando and Saud) were quite apologetic about the wait, but we told them no worries. (By the way, Fernando and Saud were excellent representatives of this hotel!)

Our Family room had two twins and a queen. Luckily, one of our children was short enough for the smaller twin bed under the eves (slanted roof). The room was clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The AC worked well as did the Internet which we purchased. (Hotel gives you 30 minutes free each day otherwise.) We felt that the price for weekly internet to be reasonable.

Location was good, if you were interested in shows/theatre. We weren't, but the central location sold us on this location after reading solid reviews on this hotel. We were on the 6th floor, but heard no noise from the square or nightclub thus ensuring us 5 nights of great sleep!

Tube stop was close; however, Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and even Buckingham Palace was in walking distance.

Front desk staff was outstanding and helped us secure a Taxi ride to airport in a vehicle that would fit all 4 of us, 4 big pieces of luggage, and multiple other carryon bags.

We added on the breakfast option and it was great. Food was hot and prompt and delicious. Wait staff was great quickly clearing dishes and refilling dishes when food got low.

Would I stay at a Premier Inn after this experience? YES! However, if visiting London again, I may look for a PI in another part of town away from the crowds of Leicester Square since theatres/shows are not our interest.

Many people will have stayed at a premier inn and this one is effectively the same - good quality but cheap, and very clean and quiet. Breakfasts are good without being exceptional, but 8.95 for all you can eat is good value.

Being in London the rooms are a little smaller than usual but they're well thought out (although the maid put the cups in front of the bathroom light switch and it literally took me 5 minutes to find it).

If you're visiting London from abroad, you couldn't be in a better location. It's right on one side of Leicester square.

I prefer premier inn on the whole because you know what you'll get - a good nights sleep and nice accommodation.

This is a comfort hotel in an affordable price. Also the location was great, leicester square subway station just 50 meters walk. From heathrow airport by using tube underground, you dont need to change line. Its about 40 min. trip. Easy access using tube to all london area. 500 meters from hotel you can ride the famous double decker 'hop on-hop off bus'. Around the hotel full of shops, restaurant, branded store, souvenirs within various budget. Some other say the hotel little bit pricey but it doesnt matter at all compare to its advantage. Staff are friendly n helpful. The room are small for family, and internet are poor. But surely we will go back.

Room Tip: The higher more quiter

Having used Premier inn through work i knew what to expect. It was new and clean and purple. As always the bed was comfy. The lifts could only be used with your swipe key so made you feel secure. The night we stayed it very quiet so a great nights sleep. The main reason i booked this hotel was where it is. Right off leicester square. We were going to see LES MIS the theatre was a few mins walk which was ideal. The fact it is a short walk to Trafalgar square, buckingham place downing street and the thames was an added bonus. We also booked the show ONCE again it was a short walk as most of the west end shows seem to be. Yes it isn't cheap but if you want a great location for a night a too to see the sights or a show this hotel will not let you down.

Room Tip: Doesn't really matter premier inn rooms are more or less the same. We were at the back so it was...

I booked this hotel but found it ridiculously expensive for just one night. Staff were friendly but slightly pushy and at one point quite rude to my partner which we brushed off. The room was standard but there was no mirror by a chair and plug, meaning I couldn't sit down to fix my hair or makeup. When I looked around, it seemed that I couldn't use my curling tongs near a mirror. This was impractical in my view- people need mirrors and plugs in close proximity to one another.
