Overall experience was very good. Staff is helpful and friendly, rooms very clean.
Most of the rooms are with shared bathrooms so should be carefull when booking.
Location is perfect, 50 meters to King Cross/St. Pancreas station.
Breakfest definitely worth the 5 pound price.

Spent a while searching and found this to have good reviews yet be reasonable priced compared to other hotels in the locality. My stay did not disappoint. The staff, especially Alina, were great and treated guests like people rather than numbers. The breakfast, although simple with not a great deal of choice, was freshly cooked, can't say that about many of the posher hotels I have stayed in. I was located in a studio apartment down the road, so can't comment on the hotel bedrooms but the apartment was great even though on a noisy road. The apartment and the hotel were very clean.

We stayed here as it is located so near to St Pancras but peaceful according to reviews - it was! We stayed for 5 nights re-exploring London. We had a ground floor double room which was small but everything we needed. The bed was comfy but a very small double and very close to the wall one side and several times I banged my knee on the wall getting out of bed! The pillows were too soft for our taste. We didn't think there was much storage but we were surprised how we fitted everything in. The bathroom was very small but an excellent shower and heated towel rail. The fan going on every time you opened the door was a bit of a nuisance. Breakfast was good, you call down when you are ready and you are told to come down or they ring you back when a table is free. The cooked breakfast was excellent, would have like to have a choice of e.g tomatoes/mushrooms instead of just beans and to be offered your egg done another way than fried, also brown bread toast instead of just white. However you get what you pay for and for London this was very good value. The staff were always polite and friendle at all times. If you are being really critical (like on 4 in a bed!!) I would take marks off for the wallpaper peeling in places and the dust behind the bathroom door but it did not bother us in the least. I would recommend this as a good place to stay and excellent value for money.

We stayed at Jesmond Dene for nights on a business trip. The hotel is small but has everything you need for a short stay. Rooms were clean and nr 4 at least very silent. Only the automatic fan in the toilet is a bit noisy, especially night time when it runs several minutes after visiting the toilet. Their breakfast practise (due to the small breakfast room) is weird but very practical - instead of queuing for breakfast in small corridor, you need to 'call a booking' to the reception who inform you when a table is ready. We waited 5 min on the other day (comfortably in our rooms) and following day the table was ready for us immediately. English brekfast was ok. Would stay again.

The hotel is centrally located, just meters away from Kings Cross Railway Station - St. Pancras, the underground and many bus lines. Very quiet street (good sleeping quality) and friendly staff (they advised me on what were the best restaurants in the neighbourhood for dinning, they printed me my check-in and tickets for the London eye at no cost and even they store in the refrigerator some cheeses I had bought until the day I left). The only negative factor is that there is no elevator (I was in room 11, in the third floor!), having the basic room (the cheapest, 60 sterling pounds, with breakfast) you must share the toilet and shower and dining room where breakfast is served, often is full. However, you don't have to wait for long and they'll call you to your room from the reception desk when one table is available. Summarising: if you wear in mind that you're in London you've got a very good value for your money!

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the ground floor because there's no elevator!

Remember this is a cheap place to stay. I was over-nighting before an early Eurostar and for that it's idea, 100m from the station and half the price of the premier inn.
Very clean, very friendly and a much nicer breakfast than you would expect.
The only downside for me was I lugged my case up three narrow flights to the top [they did offer to look after it downstairs]. They can't do anything about the 1840's soundproofing, but at this price what the hell!

Room Tip: The top floor basic rooms are very basic & a long way up. It's probably worth paying a littl...

The hotel had excellent service and being next to the station is very practical. The people were very nice, the room was very clean, everything was perfect.
I highly recommend the establishment and the price is very reasonable.

Christiane
