After reading some of the appalling reviews I feared the worst but I think some people have completely unrealistic expectations considering the price. I stayed in a triple room with my sister and elderly mother. It was clean and comfortable, the shower was great, the breakfast more than adequate and the staff friendly and helpful. The decor is irrelevant. Very good value for such a great location and would stay again.

When you book a £60 hotel in Central London for a Saturday night you expect a general standard of quality, not too much for the low price but a general standard. This hotel regularly fell down in this aspect. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming enough, we were shown to our room which was downstairs. On first looks it seems good. A clean double bed, with a sink, cooker and fridge isn't too bad. However it was on take full advantage of the room when the first problems occurred. Firstly the TV worked but only after moving the attached indoor aerial around, plugs looked quite dangerous, the curtains didn't shut probably and we unfortunately could often see the view of the outside bins (lovely). Then worse of all the sink was blocked with hair and the moldy shower would not run hot water at all (nightmare). We then complained and after 20 minutes of the staff member trying to run any hot water we were told that we could be given an alternative room. The new room, a triple, was downstairs in an area that smelled strongly of gas. There were lack of facilities in the new room with no TV, or anything like the first. However the shower did run hot water and we had a decent enough sleep on the single beds. The breakfast was a perfectly ok continental breakfast of cereal, yogurt, toast (cooked by staff) and tea/coffee. After we had finished breakfast and handed the key in at reception one of the staff members came over to apologise for the quality of the first room we had been given which we thought was a nice touch to a overall disappointing stay.

We booked this hotel for one night as we wanted to see a show in the Apollo and it was very close by. On arrival I was told my room had been upgraded to a quad having booked only a double. Plus points: the room was spacious and clean with immaculately clean bedding and towels, the bathroom was very clean, the staff were friendly and it is extremely close to the tube, the shops and of course the Apollo. Minus points: there was an unpleasant smell in the hallways and the tv didn't work. Neither of which would have deterred me from staying there. In summary, the hotel is dated and has some issues but what can you expect for £60 a night with breakfast included? Some of these reviews are laughable- you won't get absolute luxury at that price.I thought it was fab value and perfect for our needs.we just wanted somewhere clean to sleep. We would definitely stay there again

The hotel is NOT part of the nice Premier Inn chain, we thought it was. It smelled of bleach & urine and was very dirty. The room was so small we couldn't open the door to the WC fully. The WC featured MOULD.

We were afraid to open our suitcases for the two night stay. It caters to students and illegals. Do NOT ever stay there.

I stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend and my sister for three nights and none of us left really happy with the service. The room was not as bad as you would think. It was spacious enough, the beds were made, it was more-or-less cleaned and everything, except for the TV, was working. Our complaint goes out for the staff that received us.

We arrived at 4am, tired from our journey and from walking and were received in the worst possible way by a receptionist who almost seemed annoyed at the fact that we were there. Without even taking a look at the sheet of paper with all reservation details, he suddenly burst out very rudely that our reservation had been cancelled. After we asked why, he finally took a look at the paper and didn't mention this astonishing piece of information again. Why he did it in the first place, we'll never know! Then, when we took out a debit card to pay and it was declined, he looked at us as if it was his dream to kick us all out of the hotel and watch us freeze in the street. Fortunately, with other card, the situation was solved and we proceeded to our room. One more detail: we are from Portugal, so our electronic devices could not be charged with British plugs. The hotel does not provide plug adapters, so we had to buy them ourselves.

The next day we were greeted with a "fantastic" breakfast of cold milk, apple and orange juice, corn flakes, toasted bread, butter, jam, apple, bananas and yogurt. Coffee and tea were also available on demand. Once again the staff was very unhelpful and no one found it necessary to explain how the service worked, so we had to ask. They could at least have tried to be nice when we did so, but the waitress answered our question of "how does the breakfast service work?" as if we were petulant children getting in the way of her work.

In addition to being very poor, breakfast also comes with another problem: the limited hours. It is only served from 7:30 to 9:30 from Monday to Saturday and from 8:30 to 10:30 on Sundays. On the second morning, as we were tired and had barely slept the night before, we arrived a little late. And when I say late, I mean that we arrived at the breakfast room at, exactly 9:31 am. There were still a lot of people having breakfast and the waitresses were still serving coffee to one person, so we decided to come in (after all it was just 1 minute). The result was that one of the waitresses was furious and said that we were late and there would be no breakfast for us. We could have accepted very well had she said it in a different way. After all, being polite shouldn't be a paid service, but as she was extremely rude, we had to be rude ourselves, which actually made things better. Other waitress told us to sit and we had the quickest breakfast in our lives.

From then on, there isn't much else to report, fortunately.

All in all, I think that what this hotel lacks is politeness. People like us are not demanding at all, we were prepared to get what we paid for in terms of accommodation and facilities, but, in my opinion, receiving your guests well shouldn't be an exclusive feature of fancy hotels!
