“Tried to disguise double cream and butter as clotted cream.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2014

To start off with your treated like a burden. Once you order you are given dirty pots and cutlery, with a side order of attitude. I ordered my favourite English cream tea, I've had my fair share so I know what a cream tea should be like. I was served with what looked like mini cakes disguised as scones and curdled double cream and butter disguised as clotted cream. When I told the waitress, she informed me that I was terribly wrong and walked away. Not worth your time or money!!

“Excellent pastries”

This is our go-to place for pastries in the neighbourhood. The pecan tarts are my son's default choice and are done just right. You do have to get in by afternoon to find any, though!

“Yum”

These places are a little heaven of delicious decadence with a super old-fashioned ambience. You don't just go in to enjoy a lovely little piece of patisserie and a coffee, you just have to take something home with you too!

“Have been to a few - consistently good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

I live near the Notting Hill/Queensway branch and often go there for lunch or to meet people for coffee. It can be a little souless but the food really is very good. I have also been to the Soho one and the Knightsbridge one and all have the lack of character but very good food.

“Wonderful”

Loved the atmosphere. The sandwiches were good. Service was indifferent but appropriate for London. Everything we had there was good. We ate at several different locations and all were good.
