“Bad Service at night”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

Make sure you do not check in at night. I booked for 3 days in total but I just stayed there for one night. The reception during afternoon is with good attitude and i appreciated him a lot. The room was in the basement. The room in basement give me a feeling that is not safe. You are just separated from the street with a slam of door with a window.

The 2nd night i got back from Paris. The reception at night is in a bad attitude. No bell service. He gave me a room on 3/F. I was not strong enough to take my luggage to 3/F. That guy just keep saying that the helped me last time and this time he will not help me.

Is that the service that i deserve?

I moved to another hotel immediately!!!

The worst experience in my whole life. Very poor quality accommodation, unclean and has nothing to do with the pictures on the website!! Will never ever think of staying at your hotel nor recommend it to anyone!! They call it breakfast, when it's only cheap toast, coffee and orange juice!! Certainly not worth a penny.

Room Tip: Do not even think about it!!

Room was tiny, even by London standards.
Old 70's style woodchip wallpaper was peeling off the walls and ceiling.
Ceiling stained from roof leak and giving a fusty smell.
Ensuite shower was an unventilated enamel steel cubicle in the corner of the room.
Window was cracked, frames rotten and ventilator was filthy black.
I forgot to check there was a lift before booking. Carrying luggage over 4 flights of stairs was a drag.
The room was in the roof; maybe the other rooms are better.
The TV was a nice flat screen job. Kettle in the room. The rest needs to be brought up to this standard.
Much better standards are available in the locality for lower prices.
In all, not a pleasant experience.

Room Tip: Don't forget there isn't a lift!

I had a great stay at the hotel. Very close to Paddington and Lancaster Gate Stations. Close to Hyde Park too:) The room was a bit small, but it had a shower, good size tv, and comfy bed in the room.
Although it was small, it was perfect for me since I was out most of the day seeing the sites.
Breakfast was included, but it was mostly cheese and toast.
The staff was very nice and very helpful. Check-in and check-out were very quick.
Internet was 1 pound for 10 minutes, which wasn't too bad since I just needed to check-in to my flight.
A great value hotel:)

Only 5 minutes walk to Hyde Park, and Paddington undrground station, location is awesome. Rooms are pretty big, you can ask for a seperate bed double room at the reception. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly.

The only thing which dissapointed me is breakfast. It;s only toasts, butter, jam and cheese... well, i guess it's not that hard to serve some omlette with bacon)

Room Tip: 46 is ok double room with a seperate bed

Saw the photos before we booked and thought "yeah, that looks good value for Money". However, on arrival, the Hotel was shabby, dirty, in need of repair and terribly outdated. We were in room 27 (triple) which had a noisy sprung mattress which creaked at every movement. The toilet was visible through a translucent glass door from the bedroom. The room was a typical wood-chipped papered old fashioned room with handles missing from the chipboard constructed cupboard and 'crusty carpets'. The walls were paper thin so could hear everyone above, below and next to us. Breakfast was a joke - tiny basement room with only orange juice, tea coffee and toast on offer (not even cereal, yogurt or fresh milk were available). On the plus side, the location was excellent for Hyde Park and if you use it exclusively for sleeping then I suppose it was ok although even with expensive London prices, the £120 per night (inc breakfast!!) was an absolute rip off. Our friends stayed round the corner at The Cumberland at a 'special offer' rate and we viewed their Hotel - we really felt cheated!
