My husband & business partner stayed here last year on a similar business trip and found it adequate. I wish I hadn't listened to him. On entering the room it smelt of disinfectant and there was no way of getting rid of this as the windows only opened an inch - presumably to prevent the poor term-time inhabitant from taking the easy way out. The 'bathroom' was basic and small, with nowhere to hang a towel. The pillows (one each) were lumpy .. and the camp beds uncomfortable. All in all a false economy, the only redeeming feature being proximity to Tate Mod, Borough Market & where we needed to be for our business.

This has become my home-from-home in London on my summer trips to see plays at the Globe and the Old Vic. It's perfect location makes up for rather basic accommodation, and by London standards it's excellent value. The rooms are sparsely furnished but spacious by the standards of most local hotels, there's always enough hot water, the beds are comfy and the staff remarkably helpful considering how busy they are. The only downside is the meals are pretty awful, but there are plenty of local eateries and at £42.00 a night you can afford to treat yourself.

One issue is transport - there are no Tube stations nearby if you've a heavy suitcase. I got around the problem by taking a boat over from the Embankment, but you need to allow yourself plenty of time

We enjoyed our stay at Bankside for a weekend in London. The room was a twin en-suite and was quite spacious, the breakfast included in the room price was very good with cooked options as well as cereal and fruit etc.

The only small criticism is that the check-in process took far too long, especially as we'd already booked online, we waited in the queue for nearly half an hour.

No Internet Access, No TV so got bored. Rooms are decent, toilets are usually shared between two rooms. A classy hostel atmosphere. Staff is ok, not so great. Many places to eat and roam. Good breakfast. Value for money accommodation.

This hotel if ok, but dont believe the staff when you ask about parking during your stay they say although they do not book parking it is never a problem and there is always a place for your car. Guess what happened when we arrived down from Scarborough. the rooms are basic but ok, the bar etc area was dated and in need of a bit of TLC. the breakfast was good and hot. location is its redeeming feature being only five minutes walk from tube or bridge over Thames into central London. oh and there no wifi in the rooms or anywhere else in the hotel.

I stayed with my family for four nights while visiting London. It is an excellent choice if you are planning to visit central London and looking for value for money deals. The rooms are basic but they provide clean towels and linen. The breakfast is great but do reach 30 minutes before closing time to avoid a queue. It was a little noisy but that did not affect us.

This is a good choice if you are looking for a value for money deal.
