If you need accom in London its going to cost. Only for two nights this appeared to fill the bill at 60 pounds a night. I wanted to be near Euston station for journey north so this was handy. Welcome warm and sent up stairs to my single room with shared toilet facilities down the hall. The climb with case an effort. No assistance will be offered. The stairs are very skinny. My room on the top level. Nothing special but was clean and had tea/coffee making. The smallest flat screen tv ive seen in a hotel. If bathroom engaged then try down stairs. Noisey Children heard through walls. Free wifi with computer for guest use in reception. Breakfast offered at a minimal exta cost. A small map is offered of the Hotels position. Find another as this is very confusing and Ive been in London many times before. There are many local pubs handy for meals and drinks. Felt safe on journeys out at night.
Not a fan of London anymore and was here on necessity only, so on my return from north headed out to Richmond to The Red Cow where accom was cheaper, comfortable and atmosphere much better compared to the central hum.

Superb location, 5 minute walk from Euston station, also just 5 minutes to Russell Square underground with the Piccadilly line so 5 stops from Leicester square, covent garden, Piccadilly etc with Harrods and the museums on the same line. Bonus! Had a family room with 4 beds, a great nights sleep with loads of comfort. Surprising benefits were free WiFi and the breakfast for an extra £5 was awesome with unlimited amounts! Overall, great location, price and friendliness.

Gd helpful service staff. Excellent breakfast! Only one negative point: toilet pcum showerstall too small: entire bathroomonly about 0.6 m wide and 1.6m long. Washbasin position makes sitting on WC difficult. And i am only 1.5 m tall n a petite asian. I dont know how a larger sized caucasian can use the bathroom with the door closed!

Convenient to Kings Cross and Euston Tube and Train Station as well as other attractions. Staff was competent and accommodating, Wifi was intermittent, the bathroom is the size one would get on a cruise ship and the carpeting was a little grungy. The room was large enough and bed comfortable, but the walls are very thin, so bring ear plugs if you want a decent night's sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not near the night-time entrance. People come in at all hours and generally are not...

I spent a full week in London recently for research (single female traveller) and so needed a place which was central, safe, and clean. The George was a brilliant find, and I'll go back for every London trip. I requested a lower room as I couldn't manage my suitcase up the stairs and this was no problem - got moved to a great large room in basement (although still had window out onto courtyard, so not really a 'basement' basement!) which had comfy beds, desk and chair, sink, TV, good wardrobe, bedside cabinets and lamps... Everything you need, really!

The room was so so clean, I was very pleased, and was refreshed each day. All fittings worked and were clean. The TV had full Sky-type channels, and radio.

I was in a shared bathroom room but this was only a few steps down the corridor and I never saw anyone else using it, never had to wait. This contains a loo and a good walk-in shower, again, very clean, new, and powerful!

Breakfast was provided each day by friendly staff, and was cooked to how I liked it (I'm a bit of a fussy eater!). The choice was cereals/toast/cooked full English with coffee/tea/juice. Included in the price, this is amazing value. Also, wifi included in price.

Location is brilliant - looks onto a crescent garden. Just down the road is a great bookshop, Italian, takeaway, pubs, other food outlets, post office, corner shop... And the useful Brunswick Centre, which has a Waitrose, etc. Russell Sq tube just down here too.

Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone for its cost, good value, cleanliness, safety, location, etc!

Room Tip: Downstairs rooms easier for carrying luggage, although wifi not as good here (the Hotel will tell yo...

Love the look and feel of this place. Excellent location in terms of solid neighborhood with pubs and shops (and not loads of tourists) and transit options (several tube stops nearby and St. Pancras rail station for Eurostar and other big travel).

The breakfast is definitely worth it, though note that the price has risen from 4 pounds to 5 pounds.

Only issues were with hot water on the top floor. Had to search for several bathrooms before finding something with at least room temperature water.

A London hotel for GBP 85? Yes, the George Hotel can! Efficient reception, clean rooms, perfect location for late arrivals/early leaves at St. Pancras train station, good breakfast, fairly close to Russel metro station. Older or sensitive people stay away - there is no sense coming here narrow mindedly. You'll get exactly what you pay for: haul your luggage up the stairs, use the shared toilet/shower and don't expect any extra smile.
