“quite hard to judge this hotel”
Reviewed 30 November 2011

This hotel has a great location, it is located quite close to anything, be it the hyde park or oxford street. It is situated aproximately 200m from Paddington tube station, so public transportation is really reachable easily. The main lobby with its statues and a fountaine is trying to impress people entering the hotel, however, creating TERRIBLY wrong expecations about the rest of the hotel's premises. The rooms are very very small. i undertand this is a listed building, however, it was almost impossible to moe around in our room. There was actually space just for one(a very small one) wardrobe in a double room. Next thing that really struck me was the fact that they have just one key per room. In reality this meant that my friend woke me up every night coming from the town latee than I did, not being able to open the door himself. How is this possible? Have you ever heard of programmable entry cards, dear Hotel? The breakast was very plain and static, I tended to go outside to grab something, however, I understand this is normal given the price level. The staff was quie friendly, and also the cleaning lady did her job very thoroughly despite of the fact that the bathroom needed really some refurbishment and I'm thankful for that. All in all, it's quite hard to judge this hotel overall, I guess I am not to come back again to this hotel. Not because I would be entirely disappointed but because I realized I will dedicate more money for accommadation next timeI visit London to get a bit higher standard (especially the room size). thank you.

My wife and I booked online--a single room--showed up at 1am and were told that a single room was for one person and if we both wanted to stay we would have to rent another room! After much arguing we were offered a room for almost double the price i had prepaid.

Room Tip: Be careful booking online.

Dear Guest ,
We are sorry to hear about your disappointment during your stay.
Your reservation was for a single room, single room is for 1 person only.
As you were two persons and our Hotel was full on the day,we could only upgrade you to a small apartment (our only available room)that could accomodate two persons on that day.
Best Regards

This hotel gives a very good first impression, the lobby is impressive and the location is great..... however the room lay out is quite confusing, and it took awhile tofind our room. The room was very basic, but had everything you need. The tv was old & picture green? but we only wanted a bed & shower for 1 night... so it did the trick. In the morning, that was the biggest disapointment. Breakfast..... cheap sausage, scrambled egg and beans, with cold toast. How is that a full english breakfast? I have never in any country i have visited been given such a lame breakfast! For £150 a night - i expected better

Since these are listed buildings (dated from the 1830’s), a few of our rooms are small, but adequate for the purpose. We have also available 1&2 bedroom suites with lounge, kitchen and shower/toilet; please enquire on your next visit.

Most hotels have an additional charge for the breakfast, however our Buffet Breakfast is complimentary (included in the price) and comprises of: Tea; Coffee; Hoy chocolate; Milk; Orange/ Apple juices; Wholemeal/White Toasts; Butter; Jam mixed fruit; Orange marmalade; Cheese; Chicken/ Turkey salami; Chicken/ Turkey/ Olives salami; Baked beans; Sausages; Scrambled eggs; Fruit salad; Dried fruits; Corn Flakes and Rice crispies.

The location it's good, near by paddigton station, two blocks from hyde park. The staff was very helpful, they speak portuguese, and give me the turistic information. The is wifi in the lobby, the breakfast was fine, but there is no fruits. There is good restaurante near the hotel. I enjoyed!

I was disappointed by the Westpoint. From the outside, it looks like a lovely, unique hotel, but inside is outdated and slightly rundown. Our room was on the lower ground floor and looked out into a "courtyard." It was a good size, but seemed like it hadn't been updated in quite awhile. It could have used a new shower curtain and a new mattress. I imagine that a fluffy duvet and pillows would be an easy way to make the room more comfortable.

Pros: Breakfast was decent and there was plenty of it. Service was good and everyone seemed very polite. There were computers available for the internet as well as free wifi. (FYI: The wifi could only be accesed in the lobby.) Also, though some things did seem old, everything was very clean.

Overall, this was an adequate hotel, but with so many other choices in London we probably won't stay here again.

A few of our rooms are located on the lower ground floor; however they are the exact same standard as all other rooms located on the upper floors. All these rooms have windows and natural light. The hotel allocates rooms on the daily basis and when we have full occupancy all rooms are allocated regardless.

Recently stayed at Westpoint with friends for a weekend in London and shared a room for three. Room was clean and the size sufficient for us. 3 min walk from Paddington Station and tube, so ideal for access all over London. Neighbouring street has great pubs if you don't want to venture out late or call in on way back to hotel. Breakfast plentiful and staff always ready to refill tea/coffee. All staff friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Planning another trip to London in March and will definately try to rebook this hotel.

1st night - Killed 27 bugs in the room. Was told no other rooms until next day.
1st morning - moved luggage to luggage room in order to change rooms. Love the sign, "The Hotel is not responsible for thefts etc".
2nd night - Killed 10 bugs in the 2nd room. Was told no other rooms until next day.
2nd morning - visited my favourite luggage room again with bags.
3rd night - Killed 2 bugs in the 3rd room.

Other than that, couldn't swing a cat in the room (not that I normally swing cats), noisy, no bacon for breakfast, runny eggs.

Safely say that'll be the last time we stay there.

Room Tip: Don't stay there.
