when you come in, you see a traditional pub with friendly smiling staff - the restaurant at the back is very nice, comfortable, choice of sofas, chairs, lovely outside areas with decent tables to have a meal on a sunny day. The food is fantastic - the chef has a real flair with meat and fries - the salads are fresh and interesting. The pub was taken over by a young couple (the chef and the lady who serves in the restaurant most of the time) and it was refurbished. Excellent job -

The Woodman is a warm, friendly place which still finds room for a real pub bar as well as a restaurant area, so you can just pop in for a pint. That said the food is so good it would be a shame to miss out on that. The dishes are imaginative and beautifully cooked, extremely good value with substantial portions, and the staff are bright and informative. A place to return to on a regular basis.

I have been here often and never had a bad meal, an open fire a couple of leather sofas and a lot of dogs make one feel more like you are in the country than in London. This is a neighborhood pub, with a friendly atmosphere. Heaving with happiness and always welcoming

The Woodman echoes the modern tradition of reinventing pubs in a Soho House-style: a homely, clubby decor and ambience, with gastro-pub ambition. It works well but is also all too familiar these days as a pub format and look, hence no points for originality.

In the end these cozy-modernised pubs with their livingroom-style and mix of dark and light beige hues have become de rigeur amongst The Battersea set and like-minded folk from the Wandsworth and Clapham that descend from their equally beige and soft-furnished bolt-holes.

I like it but I am also slightly fatigued by the familiar look and feel. So it then comes down to service which was efficient but weirdly invisible or detached, making me think this is a pub that's geared to greeting its comfortably-off locals and not the passing trade.

I had steak frites which came with a decent salad. The steak was good quality and generous and not too pricey. I am anyway wary if a steak is too cheap. So it was good value.

I'd go back because although I felt the service was polite but detached, the modern, homely environment with its ubiquitous wifi is no doubt better than what was probably the tired sepia incarnation of this pub's past.

This was a casual evening out with old friends, the choice of venue couldn't have been better. The restaurant has a lovely friendly casual atmosphere, the food isn't gourmet, but i's close and it's all freshly prepared and very tasty. 8 people ordering different choices and not a single complaint, excellent. Service is perfect.
