I spent a night here in a very basic bijou twin room in the basement. The size of the room for two people was just about do-able although I'm not sure where you would put a suitcase, just as well we were travelling light with only 1 rucksack. The pungent smell when you entered the ground floor was overpowering. It was as though everything had been soaked in peppermint body wash - revolting!! The bedding was clean but the quilt cover was drab and cheap looking. The beds need replacing!!! This was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever had to lie on and with the broken springs digging in and boing-boing sounds every time you twitch a muscle.
A small TV along with coffee and a kettle was provided in the room, although I wouldn't recommend the coffee - it's rank!
The location next to the station has it's advantages but also it's downside. Being in a basement room immediately above the tube line means that the constant rumble of the tubes is extremely loud .
The continental style breakfast was edible, with a choice of tinned fruit, hard boiled eggs, toast, jam and croissants and cereal but the breakfast room was far too small for the number of guests that they were obviously trying to squeeze into this building.
This one definitely isn't on the list to re visit..
