We booked on the day we went. Hotel a few mins walk from Paddington and was a pleasant walk through Hyde Park to the museums the following day. Also, walked back to the hotel from Marble Arch, down the Edgeware Road, Praed Street where we found a great Greek restaurant opposite a Tesco Metro (looking it up I think it is Fantasia at 28 Praed St). The area has bars and restaurants and felt safe, even late, with our three young children.
Anyway, back to the hotel. We had room 7 which was an en-suite room for 5 - a double, bunkbeds and an adequate single fold out bed, absolutely fine. The room was tired and and in need of refurbishment but it was all very clean, the TV on the wall worked fine. The only window was in the ceiling but there was plenty of light and it was very quiet and we felt very safe. There was plenty of water pressure for the shower and lots of hot water. The public areas seemed to have been recently decorated and I was pleasantly surprised by the dining room. The breakfast was basic but fine, nice food, cooked well (museli, cornflakes, tinned fruit, tea, coffee and nice OJ plus egg, bacon, sausage and beans). The staff were attentive. My only comments would be that WiFi was £5 a day extra, we were disappointed but didn't bother (we weren't really in the room long enough to worry) and the breakfast finished at 9am which was a push for 5 weary tourists to wake and get through the showers in time to go, but I guess it got us up and out!
