“Bed and bath problems”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2013

Our stay at the hotel was a bit disappointing. It all began with the hotel being split in two buildings... And we were told the room was in the 2nd floor, but actually had to go up four flights of stairs which was no fun with large luggage. The bed was really unconfortable... Small for a couple, and everytime one of us moved the other sprang up on the other side. Sheets didn't seem to fit the bed.
Had trouble with the bathroom as well. Difficult to flush toilet, shower sprayed water everywhere and door didn't close well... Ended up with water everywhere! Noisy street in the front to top it all up.
Room was clean... Breakfast so-so... But better than what we expected.

Room Tip: Ask for room in upper levels or in back... Noisy street.

This was a sad experience. The hotel looks nice from the outside, but once you get in you see that this is not a class hotel. A small reception where they hardly welcome you, and then off to a room where it was a bad smell. It was clean, and the bed was good.

The service was really bad. and the breakfast room in the basement was a rather sad experience.
There where personel that was not very interested in doing service, and more interested to be on the outside smoking.
Not to recommend for the price they are charging.

Are staying here for one night and although I would rate this hotel as below average it is cheap and mostly clean. There are a few niggles, firstly the hotel is split over two buildings so you have to go into one building to check in (and for some reason collect your remote control) and then had to walk down to another building for our room. This wouldn't usually be a problem but when we arrived at our room we only had one towel (a very cheap scratchy affair) so had to request another and were told we would need to pick it up from reception.

The room itself was small and needed a fair amount of work, the main issues were the bathroom door that couldn't be closed (as if youclosed it then it would stick trapping you inside) and the heat that would not turn off so whilst it was close to freezing outside we had to have a window open which obviously lead to lots of noise from the street.

All these complaints aside however the chance of finding a hotel room in central London (during the school holidays) for under £100 is practically impossible.

stayed on business, went for a small room, £65 per night standard rate including breakfast- very good value for money for london. however room was small although didnt matter too much as was only me. breakfast was ok, small cooked breakfast, staff was friendly enough. wouldnt stay again would rather spend the bit extra but cant argue on the price if travelling on a budget

We stayed at St George Victoria Hotel for 2 nights. It was close to a underground which takes you to Picadilly Circus in minutes. You can also walk, but this will take you aproxximately 30 to 45 minutes depending on your pass. Overall a decent hotel with a perfect location.

Having not been to London for a very long time, my husband and I wanted a hotel close to Victoria Station, and the location of St Georges Hotel was ideal for this. The Hotel is fairly basic but we were more than happy considering the price we paid for our 3 nights stay. The breakfast was fine (even though we heard some people complaining) We did have to ask for tea/coffee facilities but these were quickly provided. Yes I agree breakfast is very early, but there is so much to see in London why waste the day in bed!!
We had a very pleasant stay here and if you need somewhere as a base to explore this great city you should give it a try. It may be a no frills hotel but it was clean, with comfortable beds, excellent location and very good value for money.
