“Great location, clean basic hotel”
Reviewed 24 August 2011

We found a deal on this hotel online and it was a good value for our five night stay to visit friends. The location is great--central and easily accessible. The rooms are smallish but clean and modern, and the in-room computer with free wireless is a great perk as you are trying to plan your days. It seems to be mostly a business travelers' hotel and caters to a more corporate crowd. The restaurant was out of our price range and there aren't a ton of food options right nearby, but walk about 1o minutes and you'll find more to choose from.

The Mint Hotel Westminster is in a really good quiet location. You can walk to Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. We took a taxi to Buckingham Palace as there were 4 of us and 6 GBP for the taxi was cheaper than the bus (2.20 GBP each). We walked back from Buckingham Palace and it wasn't too onerous. You can catch a number 88 bus from across the road to Piccadilly.

The rooms are clean and well presented. They do lack some space to unpack for a long stay. Bed is very comfortable.

We did not breakfast at the hotel as it was 21.95 GBP for the cooked breakfast. Instead we turned right out of the hotel and walked about 100 metres to Horseferry Rd. There is a L'Express where the cooked breakfast including tea or coffee is 3.95 GBP. Delicious and you can vary items. Staff very friendly and obliging.

There are quite a few pubs to chose from for dinner within an easy walk. We will definitely return to the Mint Hotel Westminster.

Just had a weekend here and loved every minute of the stay. Nice bedroom with a very small bathroom but both were very clean and catered for all our needs, the only criticism of the bedroom would be that it lacks sufficient hanging and drawer space for stays lasting more than a couple of days - for a long stay you will end up living out of your suitcases.

Problem on check in meant that we were given a room that was already occupied although the problem was quickly resolved and we were given a half bottle of wine to compensate - a free room upgrade would have been a nicer offer.

We got a good rate that included a very good continental breakfast with plenty of choice, also the first floor bar is a nice area for drinks and snacks including nice thin crust pizzas and was well populated whilst we were there.

Situated in a nice quiet and safe area just 10 minutes walk from either Pimlico or Westminster tube stations, plenty of pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance but be warned most establishments close early or do not open at all at weekends as this area seems to cater for the working weekdays rather than the visiting weekend visitors so be prepared to walk for a few minutes and if you go to the Victoria Station area there are plenty to choose from. Always plenty of taxis parked outside the front door.

Best part of the hotel is the great friendly, attentive and smiling staff who seem to really enjopy their work and also the managers constantly walking around looking for potential problems before they arise.

Loved this place and it is now our first choice for London and we will be back.

In terms of location this hotel really couldn't be better, just a short walk from the crowded Westminster this hotel offers a tranquil retreat from Central London.

The check-in staff were excellent clearly explaining all the facilities and advising where we could get more information or maps from the concierge in the building.

The rooms were nicely decorated, very clean and whilst the bathroom was somewhat small it was comfortable and provided lost of light.

The hotel itself was quiet and the staff always helpful.

The only points that I would make against the hotel was that the cleaner tried to get into the room from 8.30, eventually walking in at 9.30 so perhaps a do not disturb sign is a necessity for this hotel. Additionally, the breakfast was included in our rate and yet nobody in the breakfast hotel seemed to advise us which breakfast package or even answer simple questions. We were eating whilst the hoover was going next to us which was a little disconcerting. However, the quality of the breakfast was good apart from the bad service.

I have stayed here a few times and can't recommened it highly enough - and you can occasionally get good deals online.
The hotel is very close to the Houses of Parliament - and Tate Britain.
It's also an easy walk to Trafalgar Square and South Bank.
The rooms are compact - but tastefully decorated, quiet and comfortable.
Typical of a modern chain.
Service is friendly and very efficient.
And I love having the iMac in the room!

I stayed in this hotel on a 4 night trip to London. Hotel is very well located, on a walking distance to Big Ben, the Parliament, the London Eye and Pimlico tube station, though on a very quiet street. Front staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Room looked brand new and had a good size. Bathroom was also very good, with an excellent shower. Didn´t try breakfast or the restaurant. I would definitely stay here again!

From the time that we arrived to the time that we left we felt extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Nice size room with complimentary Wifi and the computer in every room was a HUGE plus and helped us book tickets, check in with airline, check weather, and contact friends and family... More hotels should have this service instead of charging high fees. I would like to thank the staff at the Mint Hotel Westminster. The location of the hotel is slightly off the beaten path, however, it helped us walk off our dinner every evening and it was not all that far away. We really enjoyed the quiet section of the city that this Hotel was nestled in.
