“Excellent Service, Great Location”
Reviewed 22 January 2012

Presented with a warm cookie after a seamless check-in (we'd only booked that morning), we thought things couldn't get any better! Upon entering our allocated 'smoking' room, we were greeted with an iMac to meet all of our entertainment demands. We selected the English breakfast option when booking which worked out cheaper than booking it at the hotel which was varied and very tasty. We'd definitely stay again.

Stayed here for 1 night on a theatre trip. Hotel staff were wonderful very friendly and chatty without being too over the top, I mentioned in conversation to the reception staff it was my birthday and they brought a free bottle of wine to our room. Breakfast was very nice and hotel only a short walk to the tube. Room was very nice comfy bed and excellent power shower. Will be staying here again on our next visit to London!

Myself and partner have just returned from a weekend leisure break in London, where we stayed at the fabulous DoubleTree, Hilton.
I am writing this review as generally, we as the british public are always quick to find fault or comment on the negatives and on this occasion I have nothing but highly positive things to say about this hotel and it's staff.
We stayed for one night on the 14th January in a double club room with a view of the Thames. From the second we arrived at the hotel, the level of service we recieived was second to none. A friendly gentleman greeted us in the hotel lobby and showed us to check in. The young lady at reception was very warm and welcoming and explained everything about the hotel and the services avaliable to us. Having stayed at many hotels abroad and within the UK, this was probably the best check in service I have ever recieved. We were also given delcious, warm, fresh cookies on arrival, this was a loverly touch to the check in.
We went to our room and were pleased to see a light an airy room with great space. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed! I was very impressed with the level of cleanliness (this is something I am quite fussy about, lol). Hats off to the Housekeeper who prepared our room.
We visited the hotel bar in the early evening for a pre dinner drink. We absolutly loved the bar! It had a great atmosphere, relaxing, yet with an edgy vibe. We were greeted and served promptly, with the drinks delivered to our table. During our drinks, we were approached by a very nice gentleman (Mohammed). He was extremely friendly and chatted with us, this made us feel very relaxed and welcome. He asked us about our stay and weekend plans, as we chatted we mentioned we were not sure of how to get to the restauraunt we were dining at that evening. Mohammed went out of his way to find directions to the venue as well as explaining the various options for transport to get to the venue. This was extremely helpful to us. We observed the staff walking around the bar, checking on the guests and seeming genuinely interested and willing to help.
The level of service we received from Mohammed and the other bar staff, was truely exceptional, a true asset to the establishment.
Breakfast was really good! We were greeted by a gentleman, possibly the restauraunt Manager (Maciej). He seated us and throughly explained the breakfast procedure. He introduced a young man who would be our waiter. Once again we were made to feel very relaxed and welcome and as if nothing was any trouble. There was a great selection of pastries, cereals, fruit yogurt. This was constantly being replenished, which was great to see. Tea and coffee was served to your table and a hot/cooked breakfast avaliable as an A La Carte option, delicious!
The level of service provided by the staff at this hotel (in particular the ones mentioned previously) was first class and truely exceeded our expecations. Thier friendliness and willingness to help made such a difference to our stay. The accomodation itself is centrally located and of a very high standard. I would deffinately reccommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great hotel in London. We will most certainly be returning! Enjoy!

I have stayed at this hotel several times as City Inn, Mint Hotel and now recently as Doubletrees Hilton.

The standard has always been high. The location is perfect, quiet city centre but within a pleasant 25 minute walk past many of London's main attractions, to the West End and Covent Garden.

The rooms are good value and comfortable by London standards. The public areas are all modern and comfortable. The Millbank room has excellent atmosphere and friendly service, with a great whisky selection. Pricing for food and drinks is not cheap, but in keeping with comparable facilities.

Finally a special mention for Jason and Courtni on the concierge desk. Excellent, professional, service with a smile.

I stayed in this hotel for three nights in mid-January. We were very pleased with this hotel, and booked it as part of a bundle (when it was still The Mint Hotel) with an airfare deal offered by British Airways. The location is very residential. It is down a quiet street, located about a half a mile walk from the Westminster Tube Station and the Pimlico Tube Station. To locate it on the map, Tate Britain is right next door. There are not too many restaurants right around the hotel, but if you were to walk up to Pimlico or Westminster you would find many options. However, there was a small grocery store, a pub, a Starbucks, and a Pret right around the corner.

Our room was very large, especially by European standards, and had a view of the Thames. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. And the water pressure in the bathroom was great, which sounds silly to say, but is sometimes a real hit or miss in European hotels. Breakfast was included, and offered a buffet with fruit, cereals, croissants, and juices, and you could order hot food, like a full English breakfast, and hot drinks from the waiter. The WiFi worked well, and the room includes an iMac which serves as both the computer and the TV. Staff were very friendly and allowed us to check in early so we could drop our luggage off and shower after a long flight.

Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel, and it was exactly what you would expect in a stay at a Hilton hotel. It was a great value, and considering the great central location, could not be beat.

I´m a travel agent so I booked and prepayed the hotel through my agency. I choosed it as Minthotel and already knew that was previously named CityHotel, so it got a bit misunderstanding when we arrived at the hotel with our transfer from Heathrow. The daily fare was in a very good price entering 25/12 until 29/12 of 2011.
The recepcionist where lovely, the check-in took about 5min and we gain a cookie for each one (me and my wife), that whas delicius and warm also. Our room whas on the 7th floor with inside view. Modern, good quality bathroom (a bit small for others, but as I´m big the wc is not so small at all), imac with AppleTv, king size bed. The only thing that not worked whas the minibar, which had nothing in it, but everyday they leave 2 still water for free. Near the lifts, a ice-machine provided our still water to chill, but it wasnt a main problem.
Our fare had breakfast included, that holded in the cafe-restaurant. Great buffet with a lot of breads, croissants, fruits, cereals and you could also order smoked norwegian salmon ou any kind of egg(scrambled, omelete, fried etc etc) or could order the english breakfast that unfortunetly didnt had time to eat it. You can tay a take-away coffee and breads if you dont want to stay.
The region that the hotel is localized is not too crowdy and dont many things to do. But is a 10min walk until the Big Ben/parliament/westminster abbey. In the side of the hotel is the Burbery international HQ. 50m from the hotel passes 2diferente lines from the Original Tour Bus (hop on & hop of), so if you are a leisure turist, take it from there to do whatever you want in London, as in the area the Metro(the tube, subway) is a bit far away.

Its a very good hotel, I would recomend it to all my clients, good for business and leisure.

We stayed just for 1 night at this fab hotel. We stayed in a queen deluxe room, was quite tight as we had a extra bed but didnt stay long in room so didnt matter After we went out we had a bottle of wine and chocolates left in the room a lovely touch,
Breakfast was really good a good a la carte selection brought to you not a buffet that seems to be the norm nowadays, lovely selection of pastries as well as fruit.
Had a drink in the bar in the evening lovely atmosphere and not over priced
We have travelled to a lot of hotels this is very good value for money and an excellent location. Enjoy

Room Tip: we had room 737 could just see the Thames very quiet at the end of a corridor
