They had me at the cookie when I checked in! The service was top notch and the accommodations were quite comfortable. We enjoyed the amazing buffet breakfast each morning and the tea service in the upstairs lounge. It's a clean and modern hotel and I would stay here again. It's a 5-10 min walk to Westminster Abbey so it's very convenient. A little bit further to the Pimlico tube station but who doesn't enjoy a little walk when on vacation?

My daughter and I stayed for 13 days. The room was always clean and totally big enough for both of us. The MAC computer was nice to have in the room. We listened to our home radio station every morning. Breakfast every morning was fantastic. The staff was always helpful and polite. The location of the hotel was great. We could walk to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. Local busses and the subway were a short walk from the hotel. We had no problem traveling to anywhere. If we ever return to London we will stay here again. My only complaint was my trouble getting ice water with my breakfast.

Fabulous Hotel right in the pulse of London. Staff where wonderful, room was exceptional. Will be booking again for my return trip to London next year. View from our window was Big Ben and London eye. Always a cab out the front and within a 2 minute walk of beautiful St Johns Park and some great restaurants/cafes. Lovely to walk along Millbank and the river Thames, just around the corner.

This is a good place to stay if you're going to be doing sightseeing - most of the main places are walkable. We thought the beds were a little hard - but that's just a personal preference. If you've never been to London, be prepared for the prices. The value is comparable for what London prices are, but using the US dollar conversion it's a price shock - our dollar does not hold up well. We simple doubled the pounds (i.e. if it costs L20, we calculated $40.00 - and we weren't far off. Compared to other hotels we saw, the rooms are large - but they are small compared to what we are used to in the US. Overall, this hotel is a very good place to stay.

Only had three days and this was first trip to London. This was a good base as it was not too far from the Tube station, there was a small grocery nearby for snacks, near the Thames and the London Eye. Also a pub! The breakfast buffet had something to please all but the most picky eaters! I became quite fond of the broiled tomatoes, baked beans not so much! We arrived early in the morning 6 am after flying overnight and for a small fee were able to check in and take a nap! The lounge had good drinks and snacks. Rooms are "cozy" and halls are very narrow but for a base of operations, it was fine and everyone was very helpful. love to return to London and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Not too much to see as it is in an urban area with lots of ongoing construction.

Stayed here for a two nights in the beginning of august 2014 and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is located near Tate museum and a short walk from Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. You will have to walk a bit to get to the nearest metro station, but I didm´t mind the walk. Our room was quite small, but it was nicely decorated and clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast wad good.

Stayed one night last weekend for £139 room only, in a standard room with a hard unyielding bed barely big enough for two, wedged against the wall so one of us couldn't get in or out on their side, stodgy pillows, minimal light from a small window on to the car park in the shadow of a giant office block, tiny shower room with no bath. But hey, the bar lounge is stylish, the TV is a Mac, and the staff are pleasant. Our advice? Only stay here if the location's convenient, and you want to splash out a superior room. And even then, be careful of the bar prices - two fish and chips with a few drinks came to a not entirely modest £87. Maybe that's why the bar lounge was almost empty though the hotel apparently was full.....

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, go for a superior room high up

Dear himandme48,

Thank you for your review of the DoubleTree Westminster. We appreciate you taking the time to provide detailed feedback regarding your recent stay.

I am sorry that you found the mattress too firm for your tastes. We appreciate that our guests have preferences when it comes to the firmness or softness of a mattress, and we are happy to accommodate these preferences. Mattress toppers are available on request for those who like a softer bed, and we provide bed-boards for our guests who prefer a firmer mattress. Please feel free to take advantage of this complimentary service on your next visit, and kindly accept my sincere apologies for any disappointment.

I am disappointed that you did not enjoy the view from your room. London is a thriving city, and most London properties will have a view that overlooks adjacent buildings. We do offer room changes and upgrades on request, so if you return to us in future, please call to the Front Desk to take advantage of this service, though regrettably this may not always be possible during busy times.

Your feedback is important to us as it enables us monitor the service we provide, and it is always a pleasure to hear first-hand when our service has been appreciated. Your kind comments on the standards of service your received have been shared with the team, who are delighted to have made such a good impression.

Thank you once again for your review. I am very sorry that your recent experience with us was not as positive as you would have liked, but thank you for sharing your experience with us. We hope to one day welcome you back to the DoubleTree Westminster for a stay that you will fully enjoy.

Kind regards,
