We loved staying in this area on the south bank of the Thames. This Premier Inn is small and the building is old, but as usual the same decor and helpful staff. We needed a handrail for the tub/shower and were offered a disabled room but it had a low hanging rod for clothes, a low bed and we did not want that. They then offered us a room that was in the part of the hotel right by the inside entrance to the Anchor Pub for breakfast nearby and was on the street. It was slightly different ad at least had a towel rail at the end of the tub, good as a balance point, and rails in the sides of the tub which made it possible to get in and out of the elevated tub easily for us. Many people might not like this room because of some street noise, but we loved it. The air conditioning in Premier Inns is a cold blast from the ceiling, but we found out the staff can alter the setting temperature. In this room we could open the window a couple of inches and the weather was perfect for that, much better than air conditioning.

Again (as at our previous stay at the Premier Inn Kings Cross) we had a problem with only a thick duvet with cover, no top sheet or light blanket, but we asked the staff and got a sheet and extra bath towel which was huge and big enough for me. My husband is cold blooded so he liked the duvet. We both have back problems and we needed 5 pillows each to get a comfortable position. Again the staff was cheerfully helpful, though I think the housekeepers thought we were weird!

This hotel is near the Borough Market, a wonderland of fresh fruit, veggies, bakery goods, cheeses, etc on Friday and Saturday just fantastic for a lunch. It is also near the Millennium pedestrian bridge across the Thames which connects the Tate Modern with St Paul's Cathedral and has great views from the bridge. Also it is near the Globe Theater, highly recommended for an authentic Shakespeare experience. And there are lots of restaurants.

Room Tip: We loved the street view from the room near the pub breakfast entrance, a little noisy but an intere...

Premier Inn never disappoint, and tend to be my first choice of city hotel. Have stayed in several over the past 5 years, but this was our 3rd return visit to Southward. Location excellent, staff friendly and welcoming.

An excellent Premier Inn facility very well located at Bankside adjacent to the Vinopolis complex. We found the staff courteous and helpful, the room clean and tidy and the Anchor Pub excellent for breakfast.

The Premier Inn for good value, quality tourist class accommodation in London. It not a fancy hotel with loads of bells and whistles but it is clean, well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had a room on the ground floor, which I was initially not happy about but it was very quiet and safe.

We walked everywhere while there - it is about a 25 minute walk from the Houses of Parliament and a 10 minute walk to Tower Bridge. If the weather is fine, you will have no problem walking around London no matter where your hotel is (within reason!)

Hotel is a standard Premier Inn (if you have been in one you've been in them all) however it is the most expensive hotel that I have ever stayed in, and was full of schoolkids from America on a trip, so murder trying to get breakfast

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your comments. I was pleased to note you found our hotel to live up to Premier Inn standards, however I do apologise for any delay you experienced accessing the breakfast facilities due to the high volume of other guests accessing breakfast at the same time. During our busier periods we do reccommend taking breakfast earlier in order to avoid any queues if possible. We hope this experience doesn't detract you from staying at our site in the near future. I look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel soon.

You really can't go past Premier Inn for good value, quality accommodation in London. It's not a fancy hotel but it is clean, well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had a room on the top (third) floor, which was quiet despite the central London location - the windows have double glazing.

The bathroom included a bath with overhead shower, both of which worked perfectly and were in pristine order.

30 minutes of free WiFi is provided per day and the 24 hour rate is very reasonable (3 pounds).

Last but not least - location! You are 5 to 10 minutes walk from London Bridge station, and the route there passes cafes, restaurants and shops.

Check in is at 2pm but after arriving in London at 6am, we were able to leave our bags in the morning and check in slightly early in the afternoon.

We had such a great time at this perfectly located Premier Inn when we 'did' London as tourists last summer, that we didn't hesitate to book again this year. The staff were every bit as friendly and the nights' sleep every bit as good. Thank you Premier Inn. We'll be back!
