I was very surprised, given the reviews I had read. This hotel is very well situated, close to Paddington station and to many restaurants shops and bars.
We arrived at the hotel a bit early and the friendly receptionist let us store our luggage. Our room was located on the front side of the hotel with a huge window almost 3m high overlooking at Sussex gardens, the room and bathroom were clean.
The breakfast was very good for continental breakfast. There was a good variety of items to choose from and everything was fresh.
We definitely return back in our next trip to London

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. We arrived and the friendly young man at the desk checked us in and took us to our rooms which were cosy, very clean and both had ensuite bathrooms. The continental buffet breakfast, it was good, adequate for the morning start. Most importantly the place was very clean, something you can't take for granted.
Great location, very close to Paddington station and Lancaster gate which made it easy for us to go shopping and sightseeing. There are also a lot of restaurants and pubs in the neighbourhood, so you have a lot of choice. All in All, hotel is good value for money and we will be back.

After coming to the hotel there was a sign to go to another hotel for check-in, there was nobody at the reception. We had two rooms, mine was in some kind of basement, the bathroom was so small I couldn´t turn around. I´m sure somebody slept in my bed before me :( The other room was probably made of the hallway, that was there before. The breakfast was poor (toast, old ham and old cheese, some butter and marmelade, coffee and orange juice were horrible). I really wouldn´t reccommend this hotel to NOBOBDY! Don´t stay here!!! We moved after the first night.

Stay away! Don’t book this hotel.

The only good thing that I can say is that this is a charming looking hotel on a beautiful street only two blocks from Paddington Station.

When we arrived at the hotel around 11:00 a.m., the door was locked and a note said to go to their sister hotel 5 doors down the street. A clerk then walked us back and let us leave our luggage there until check-in later that afternoon.

We are two senior ladies and had to take our own suitcases down to a basement room by a staircase with a curve at the top and a handrail at the halfway point. We asked for a room with two beds and were given a double bed. The room was so small that we could only open the bathroom door partway because it was blocked by the bed. The bathroom was so tiny that you have to slide onto the toilet under the sink. There was black mold spots in the grout in the shower stall. In order to wash your face in the sink you must keep the bathroom door open so that you can bend over. We left our dingy towels on the bathroom floor and when we returned later that day, they were hanging on the hook on the back of the bathroom door. After going to the reception desk to ask for clean towels, we were told that they were at their sister hotel down the street. When asked if we had to go get them, the clerk did volunteer to get them for us but asked what size we wanted. There was no hotpot or tea in the room.

The TV was old, only could get 3 channels, the remote didn’t work, and there was no place to sit in the room except on the bed to watch it.

Breakfast consisted of Tang or water, coffee from a pot that hadn’t been washed in ages, cereal with milk, dry sliced cheese, some sort of luncheon meat, bread to be toasted, and some hardboiled eggs that had been sitting out on the table for who knows how long.

This is the worst hotel I have ever been in!

I booked this hotel for a romanitc weekend, It did not go well first we were confronted by a confusing sign telling us that the reception was closed and we had to go to the next door Nayland hotel?
next we saw our room which was down in the basement, it was cramped and smelled strongly of smoke, we complained and luckily got moved the next room was better but still very small and smelled of bleach instead!
Needless to say we went out and only slept here, on the plus side it had a reasonable shower. Breakfast which, i hasten to add you pay extra for was pretty ropey and hugely overcrowded with everyone fighting for the same pot of coffee! there was cold lunceon meat, toast and cheese, hardly the fryup you expect! my girlfriend and I gave up complaining and just looked at each other and laughed.
My advice-if you secretly hate your partner and want to say it in a subtle way, then the Beverly City Hotel is your place, If not then AVOID AT ALL COSTS

The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Paddington station, so it was great for us getting in from the airport. As soon as we got there we liked the feel of this small hotel. The room wasn't large but it was really nice, very clean and the bed supercomfortable. We have stayed in London before always choosing 3 star hotels and the Beverley is probably the nicest we have stayed in. Also Breakfast was more than we expected with fresh boiled eggs, cheese and ham, very nice! We stayed over the weekend for two nights and we will go back on our next visit.
