“Noisy Location”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

The address of the hotel is not actually accurate as it is on the corner of Elizabeth Bridge and Hugh Street but practically across the road from Victoria Coach Station and a few minutes walk to the rail station.

Staff in the hotel were very helpful and friendly, we arrived too early for check in hoping to leave our bags and go to explore London but were able take a room at no extra charge which was very pleasant after a very early start that morning.

Stayed for two nights in London and have seen much worse. Room was on second floor at front of the building, there was a lot of road noise and the railway lines to Victoria Station are just down to the right of you so further noise from this late into the night. The window was only a single glazed sash window so was not effective at keeping out noise - fortunately I always travel with good ear plugs.
The room was small but well equipped with TV, tea point, fridge and en-suite, The door to the en-suite struck the bed but opened enough to get in. The room was very clean as was the en-suite. The room got very warm and I would imagine this would be uncomfortable during the summer as there is no air conditioning and opening the window lets in more noise. If the room had less noise and a softer bed you could put up with the size no problem.

We were leaving late on our last day and we were able to store our luggage in the hotel for £1 pr bag which was much better value than the storage at train station which is £9 per bag!!

The address of the hotel is not actually accurate as it is on the corner of Elizabeth Bridge and Hugh Street but practically across the road from Victoria Coach Station and a few minutes walk to the rail station.

I do not know if I would recommend this hotel again there are a lot of other bed and breakfasts and hotels in the area to compare with. Certainly for a short stay it is handy enough and reasonably priced for London.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear may be quieter though staff advised these were smaller.

We'll be here for 3 nights and this hotel is just right for our stay. Its conveniently located to both Victoria Stations, there are many shops around and a lot of restaurants. Its also within walking distance to Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guard.

The rooms are relatively small as is the bathroom. The shower works well. Both Victoria stations are right here.

There is noise from the train station but for whatever reason it doesn't bother us.

The staff is very helpful.

We would stay here again.

Room Tip: As for a room in the back if you think the trains will bother you.

My husband and I stayed overnight as we were taking an early train from Victoria railway station.

We were upgraded to a family room with 2 double beds. the room was clean and tidy and quiet considering how close we were to Victoria. There were plenty of towels but they did smell a bit odd though. The towels were clean so i can only assume that either the washing detergent gave them the odd smell or they hadn't been stored properly.

the shower was another matter. the shower holder had been broken previously so it meant that in order to have a shower, the shower was hand held. Fortunately, the soap dispenser could take the weight of the shower head when necessary, otherwise it would have been impossible to have a shower. we complained to reception the following morning and they appeared surprised and were apologetic but no discount on the cost of the room was forthcoming.

Still here - enjoying my stay. Solo female traveller. Feel very safe and secure. Super single room, extremely clean and has all the essentials that one requires. Lovely bathroom. Very professional and helpful staff. Have stayed in many different places over many years of visiting London and this will be my first choice every time.

I spent a week in a single room in this hotel and was really pleased - the room is rather small, but perfect for a solo traveller who is merely looking for a place to lay their head. The room was clean and neat - slat screen, free wifi and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a safe.
The location of this hotel is excellent! You can pretty much navigate your way around the town from here. Buckingham Palace was about a 15 minute walk away, and being so close to the station and bust stops meant that I could prett ymuch get anywhere by tube or bus without any fuss.
Being so close to the train tracks could pose a problem if you're a light sleeper, but it was not unbearable. I'd definitely book at this hotel again.

I booked this hotel for an overnight stay with my mum and sister as part of our theatre weekend break. With just a short walk to the theatre, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park and Oxford street, the location is excellent, with parking close by, at a nominal charge.
The staff were friendly on arrival and we were pleasantly surprised to discover we had been "upgraded" to a larger room. The room itself was spacious and clean and the beds were so comfy. The bathroom was functional and clean, with shower gel, soap and copious amounts of soft white towels provided! What more could you ask for! And we didn't hear a train all night!
The price was more than reasonable for the location of the hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap hotel, relatively close to the city centre.

Whilst I will say that this hotel is very clean and in a good location it is ridiculously small. Whatever you do never stay in a room next to the train track - as our room actually vibrated and shook all night so that we barely got a wink of sleep.
We booked into this hotel for 4 nights and really wish that we hadn't. The old addage of "it's just a bed" is true until you get there and then you realise that to have an enjoyable stay somewhere the hotel is actually a large part of it. We would never stay at this hotel again.
