We had a great stay at The Grantly Hotel. We were attending the Rick Springfield concert at the O2 Empire, and it was perfectly situated. Seconds away. The room was well kept if small and we were impressed there was a fridge as well. The shower room was admittedly tiny but sufficed. Breakfast was lovely although it would be an idea to explain the set-up and ask if guests wanted an egg before dishing it up! The staff and guests were all so friendly. Would definitely stay again.

First impressions were ok, but room was not overly clean, bathroom cramped. Very noisy at night due to draughty windows . Staff were not friendly and hardly spoke English . We were thinking it was bearable for the price until we went for breakfast , what a joke! A hard boiled egg shoved under our noses when we hadn't even specified a choice, limited toast and a selection of plastic cheese and jams. Stewed tea and coffee. Hardly much effort put in here! All served by staff who didn't speak a word of English !

A surprisingly good budget hotel. The room was small but it was clean and the bed - although firm - was very comfy for a one night stay. 5 minutes walk from the main Shepherds Bush tube station and about 10 to a huge Westfield shopping mall. It's not 5 star but it's good value for the price and I would definitely stay here again.

I visited this hotel with no great expectations because of the low price. A stones throw away from Shepherds Bush Empire. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Could not fault customer service. The room was small and pokey. Very clean though. The bed was the worst I have ever slept in. The cotton sheets were rough. Blankets not quilts and the lumpyest bed ever. Worst nights sleep I have had in a hotel.

On arriving at the Grantley, we were showed to our room. It was very small and bathroom even smaller. The toilet being practically on top of the sink, no room to move. The shower was so slow wondered if it was ever going to work. The bed was lumpy and flat pillows with no extra ones if needed. The room was on the main road hence very noisy and single glazed windows, so no sleep the first night. The wall between rooms was so thin that every noise could be heard from the adjoining bathroom and I don't mean the pulling of the flush. On mentioning these things in the morning we were asked what did we want them to do about it (not what I call customer friendly). Yes it is close to the tube station but that is about all that can be said for it. The price you pay is not the quality you get. Somebody needs to take a long hard look at this hotel. At the end of the day not a pleasant experience.

First of all I want to say that we got really surprised, better than expected. We were 3 girls that went to London with one goal: to shop ALOT! The location of the hotel was good. Just 5 minutes walk from Shepherd's bush underground station. Took maybe 5-10 minutes until you where on Oxford street. You didn't have to change line or underground station. Very easy and convenient especially when it was our first time in a big city. It's was also really easy to find the hotel and a good thing was that they had a great explanation how to find the hotel from different airports by underground or by bus. We came from Heatrow airport and it couldn't be easier to find. We had booked a tripple room and our room was clean and big, all of our bags could be open at the same time and we still had alot of space to move around on. The toilet was clean and seemed to be newly restored. The beds were clean and comfortable. Breakfast were good but after 5 days it became kind of monotonous. Bread with butter or jam on, cereal, boiled egg and coffee/tea/juice.

Some negative feedback I still want to share with you. Our room was on the third floor and it was really small stairways...... BUT the staff offered to help us with our luggage which was great. We had a little blood stain on our floor. I don't know if it is common in the UK to only have a sheet and then put a blanket over the sheet to sleep with. We were kind of surprised by this... The breakfast room was kind of small which made us wait before we could get a table. The hairdryer in the room was really bad... Better to NOT use it. Another bad thing was that when we got back to the hotel on our second day, there were a couple of women outside our room and they said that they got a key to our room? Someone in the reception made a mistake and thought maybe that we all could stay in one room...?! Not okay. But I will stay in this hotel again if I return to London.

Let's face it, for less than 50 quid with breakfast you're not going to get a luxury hotel in London, nevertheless I was a bit wary of the Grantly having read some bad reviews and expected it to be a bit of a dump. I have to say that the guy on reception was friendly, pointing out the credit card surcharge and suggesting I pay cash to save money (there is a cashpoint at the petrol station very close). The room was small, the bathroom minute! but everything was clean and the bed and pillows were fine. The breakfast was continental with toast, cereal, boiled egg, tea or coffee, fine for the price. Tea, coffee and kettle provided in the room. Overall it was better than expected and I would stay again when working nearby....probably wouldn't use it for a romantic weekend though!
