We stayed at the Howard Winchester for a weekend away for my sisters 14th birthday. I travelled with my sister my mum and her 2 friends. The hotel was 5 mins in a taxi from London St pancras in a quiet area Park outside hotel and mcdonalds just down the road. Was also just down the road from Kings Cross station so good transport links nearby. Good friendly staff when we arrived, room wasn't ready so we left our bags in the dining room however this was not a locked secure place to leave bags whilst going out. 30 min walk to covent garden from hotel as we went to see Matilda at the Cambridge theatre.

Returned to hotel at around 8pm collected bags no problem booked 2 rooms one a triple room for the girls the other was a double room, however the rooms were not next to each other they were down different parts of the hotel. The triple room was spacious and clean and could have slept 4 people as one bed was a double, we had a problem with TV but the man sorted this straight away. Was also slightly cold as window didn't shut properly. Double room again was very clean and enough room for 1 nights stay, again one bed was a double so could have slept 3 people and was nice and warm. TV in room but no hair dryer very glad I brought mine.

Bathroom was very clean and towels were provided. Only problem was our room was right next to the dining room and sounded like it was underneath a laundry room as a lot of banging could be heard until 10pm then started again at 7am. Apart from this I still had a good night sleep the beds and pillows were very comfy and clean. We chose not to have breakfast at the hotel as it was only on from 7am-9am and went to mcdonalds instead which was a minute walk down the road.

Overall a very good no frills hotel just what we needed and close to the attractions we visited.

Stayed at the HW from april 28th until may the 1st, found it very welcoming with no real issues . Top notch location from King's Cross station, there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room so take a travel kettle . The rooms are very basic but do a job, afterall we only used the hotel as a base, the shower is ok with plenty of hot water . The breakfast was very good and plenty enough to set you up for the day until lunchtime, staff very friendly and helpful, hope to be going to visit London again in the near future so will be hoping to stay here again .

Budget hotel a stones throw from Kings Cross. The rooms are small and very basic, the en-suit consists of a toilet and shower behind a sliding door and a basin in the room. On the upside the rooms are clean and warm, the beds are comfortable and there's plenty of hot water. The breakfast is basic but ok with plenty of tea and coffee Staff are friendly and polite check in was easy and small problems were dealt with quickly -- no hospitality tray on arrival. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel the morning we left and pick them up before our train at no extra cost
I was a bit put out that staff were knocking on the door at 9.30 to see if we were ready to leave , but to be fair I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem if i has said no. good value and convenient for a short stay.

Room Tip: lots of stairs and no lift so if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues ask for a ground floor room

OK for a night or at the most two. On the plus side it was clean, convenient for all main line stations to the North (and Eurostar) and surprisingly quiet considering its just off a very busy road. Decent English breakfast.

On the negative side it had the smallest twin bedroom I have ever seen and an equally small (although manageable) bathroom/toilet - and one of the bedroom windows had a large crack across it!

At £95 for a night it was to me pricey - except I suppose by London standards.
