“Not Great”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

Let me start by saying that the staff at the hotel were fabulous. The front desk people were just as nice as could be. But, for the price, this was probably the biggest mistake of our trip to the UK. The photos make the hotel look lovely, but it is worn out and old. Rooms were tiny like a closet - of course that is somewhat to be expected in a big European city- but I'm talking so small that we had to put one suitcase in the bathroom! The breakfast was just awful! It was included in our two night stay, we skipped it the second a.m. The coffee was weak, food was served buffet style and the eggs were just gross.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room

Thank you ‘deltafltatt’ for posting your review. I am pleased that you found my staff to be ‘fabulous’. They all work very hard to ensure all our guests are well looked after and will always go the extra mile when required to.
Our hotel was recently refurbished and everything is new so I am not to sure how you can say our rooms are ‘worn out and old’. As with the majority of London hotels out rooms are compact but they contain most things that you need including hair dryers, tea and coffee, air conditioning etc.
Breakfast is very buy and very popular as can be witnessed each morning. Everything is cooked fresh each morning and continually throughout the service.

We were a family of 3 staying at the Rose Park Hotel last week (25-27 Sep 2013). We considered other TripAdvisor reviews, price and location before making our booking. From previous experiences in London, I approached this with lowered expectations, but I was very pleasantly surprised with what we encountered at the Rose Park. The front of house staff were friendly, very helpful and efficient. The room was sufficient in size by London budget hotel standards, but most importantly, it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom (loo, basin and walk-in shower) was compact, modern and clean. On the downside, breakfast is served between 07.00 and 09.00, which causes a bit of a crush in the comparatively cramped dining area. As a result, staff and guests trip over each other. There's also not enough alternatives to the fried egg and bacon breakfast, e.g.. no fresh fruit or yoghurt. If you're looking for convenience, then you'd be hard-pressed to find better. It's a short and simple walk to Paddington Railway and Underground stations and set back in the quiet Talbot Square. There are also plenty of reasonably-priced eateries, pubs and convenience stores located between Paddington and the Rose Park Hotel. Would we go back again? Yes, without a doubt.

We spent 2 nights at the start and one at the end of our recent trip to the UK. We chose this hotel because it was located very close to Paddington Station, was within our budget, and had the amenities that were most important to us. The first room we had was a double room on the below ground floor and it was quite clean but VERY small by our usual standards. Still we didn't spend much time in the room as we were off sightseeing like mad but had a nice comfy bed to fall back into at night. Upon our return we were upgraded to a triple room on the second floor which was a fair bit larger but still clean and lovely. The breakfast room was delightful - food and service both very good. I would definitely consider staying here again when in London.

Room Tip: Ask for room 206! :)

This is a recently renovated hotel within walking distance to Paddington station and therefore easy to get places----small but this is London--staff very helpful--personally I have always liked to stay in Paddington--it's hard to get lost---also recommend a trip to Cambden
--take a canal trip preferably the one on a tiny boat but with a woman singer--and then try the restaurants--I recommend Gogamesh

Room Tip: Don't worry all rooms good and quiet and after traipsing around London you'll fall into bed...

When you are in London you need a comfy place to sleep and a hot shower... the most important piece is being close to the Tube. This is ONE block from Paddington Station making it incredibly convenient to walk to the Heathrow Express with suitcases, and we had a lot of luggage! You pass pubs, grocery convenience stores, Italian, Indian, English and many more food options all in that same block. The other direction 2 blocks away is Hyde Park and another Tube station. You can virtually be anywhere in London lickity split.

The rooms are small with little storage but since we literally were just sleeping it worked out fine and the price was perfect allowing us to do more sightseeing and more eating! Wifi and breakfast are included, however we never utilized the breakfast, so I can't provide any additional information. In addition the staff was absolutely wonderful, friendly and accommodating.

I would certainly stay here again without hesitation.

We stayed for 3 nights in July 2013 and it was a perfect location - just around the block from Paddington - close to trains to Heathrow and for taking the tube around London. The 3rd flr room was smallish, but clean, comfortable and very quiet - no street noise or other quests. Full breakfast included and was plentiful and pretty good. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful as we needed to make reservation. The area around the hotel is very safe and very pretty. There are dozens of shops and restaurants just one block away.
