“Terrible hotel and service”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

I would strongly recommend anyone wanting nice accommodation in London, DO NOT stay here. Service was terrible, rooms not as described and after that a week later when I was back in Australia found I had been charged twice for the room I stayed in for only one night. Terrible experience

Hotel Location is great to access Paddington Station. Only a 5 minute walk! On arrival the reception staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient in allocating our twin room. I was visiting London with a friend for 2 days so wanted a hotel which was clean, comfortable, good value and offered breakfast. The bedroom was small and the shower room very compact not suitable for large people, good job we dont fall into this category!! On a positive side the beds were comfortable, the room was tidy and clean towls were provided. There was a good choice at breakfast. Overall the hotel was good value for a basic no frills hotel

We booked a double room 6 months in advance, only to arrive at the hotel late at night after our flight to find out they didn't have our room. They were not willing to help one bit, would not refund our money, and after 2 hours of arguing we were left on the chilly streets of London (this was during December) to try and find accommodation. We eventually found one, and went back in the morning to speak to the manager, who also would not give us a refund. Absolutely atrocious. If this hotel existed in Australia, the owners would be in jail pretty soon. During the 3-4 hours we spent there arguing, about 4 - 5 other customers came by in the time also to complain of other problems, such as cold rooms, things not working, and some guy who spoke another language was going ballistic at them over something, obviously they had screwed him over somehow too.

Basically - NEVER STAY HERE, and please spread the word to as many as you can so this place is shut down for good.

Room Tip: DON'T book this place. You will regret it.

The hotel is small and simple, but very close to Paddington and Hyde Park. Friendly front desk and they will even allow you to put your luggage and go In your room before housekeeping gets it ready. I went to Dublin on Holiday via British Airways and wanted a stop over in London for a day. This place is in expensive, but for easy access to the city and to and from Heathrow via Paddington Station can be a deal for an expensive city. They do charge for Wi-Fi and in my case it didn't work and they refunded my money. But, you can go to any of the surrounding Starbucks in London including one at Paddington station for free Wi-Fi.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a primary holiday in London, this hotel is very simple. If all you care about...

Some of the staff are a bit unfriendly but we could always find a solution in the end. The room was ok, nothing special. No problem with cleanliness. A kettle and tea were provided. The wifi hardly ever worked in our room (even though it was supposed to be available). Location is not bad, as the underground station can be reached quickly and there are some restaurants in the area. A bit noisy, as we can sometimes hear the neighbours and their creaking doors. I would not recommend it for people who need a good night's sleep.

Had to Spend 6 nights.
Awful mold smell in the toilets/shower.
Rude and unhelpful staff.
No lifts - had to carry 2 luggages by hand.
Check out is as early as 10:30AM.
Reasonably clean, 3 minute walk from Paddington station is comfortable. Hyde park is very close too.
Breakfast is OK. Very basic.

Won't recommend nor come back.

Located near Hyde Park and Edgware Road, this was a place to sleep. As mentioned by other reviewers,, this may not be where you want to stay if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room or in London. We spent three nights,, and this was bearable. Our room was in the basement which is your better choice. The rest of our party had to forge the narrow staircase with bags and no air conditioning in the heat of July.

Don't take your clothing in the bathroom while showering,, it is sure to get wet and there is nowhere (literally) to hang them up. We had no problem with the plumbing,, but I wished I had brought a shower disinfectant to combat the musty odor. The room was cleaned,, but it is an older facility.

I did not eat the breakfast, but i did get the tea. Don't waste your money on convenience for use of the internet in your room. No guarantee that it will be working when you try to use it. One good thing is that you can ask for plug adapters at the front desk, and sit in the lobby to use the internet.

This is a lovely neighborhood to walk around in,, we were able to enjoy a free concert in the park and excellent food on Edgware. We made the mistake of renting a car. We were able to pay for parking by the day,, but I wish I had spent the extra on a room more suitable to our needs.

If you choose this hotel,, ride the tube and enjoy the experience. Buy a pass. Best deal.
