The good: The nearby Yak & Yeti and Tudor Barn restaurants were both really good, the bed was clean and comfortable and the area was quite nice.
The bad: There was a strong smell of vomit in the halls for the days we were there and no effort seemed to have been made to remove it or disguise it. Breakfast was miniature boxes of Kelloggs cereals, a jar of instant coffee and a toaster. I was in the converted attic which had a tiny bathroom that you couldn't stand up in and was constantly too warm because the skylight was broken so would not stay open, the blind on the window was thin, white and broken so there was no way of keeping sunlight out. The rooms were badly insulated so you could hear everything from rooms beside you and the music the staff insisted on playing in reception.
The ugly: At breakfast on our last day a rat ran across the floor of the dining area then spent the next 15 mins scratching behind the wall behind the cereals, the member of staff assured as he would "catch that rat sir".
Pretty awful place that to be honest I'm surprised has not been closed down on health and safety grounds.
