“It's a dorm at a party university.”
Reviewed 9 August 2006

Have you been to University or College? And there's always at least that one dorm/rez that all about the party? This place is it. Don't expectfrills. I have serious doubts the matress sheets were clean, and the Duvet cover - no chance they changed those. There is a bar downstairs and that pretty much sums this place up. They describe it as a party hostel, and while you can get away with staying there without the party, don't be surprise. Pluses for the neighbouthood, it's close to the Tate Modern, the Globe, and only a 15 minute walk to Waterloo station where you hop on the Eurostar.

this is the only hostel I've stayed in so far, so the beds may be a standard hostel thing, but the mattress were a joke. But the location cannot be beat (except maybe by the other st. christopher's right up the street, which I will probably stay at next time). It was definitly an early 20s crowd for the most part. Bathrooms were fine; the advertised jacuzzi was not functioning while I was there. Subway is 7 minute walk. Didn't notice exceptional friendliness from the staff, but met several nice people there. Excellent value for the price. Breakfast was toast, cereal and juice.

The staff was helpful and friendly. There's a hot guy that works there. I like the fact that they give you a card rather than a key for your room because it fits nicely in a wallet. The area it's in is nice during the day, but I didn't really like it at night. It's near a station, so that was convenient. The bathrooms weren't very clean, but they weren't outrageously disgusting either. It's a party hostel, so it's rather loud. Don't stay here if you'd like a quiet place to stay at.

I recently stayed at St. Christopher's Village and really enjoyed it. The rooms and toilets are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and the hostel is conveniently located (walking distance to Tate Modern and the Tower of London). But, the best thing about St. Christopher's Village is the atmosphere. If you are looking for a hostel that caters to guests looking to have fun, this is the place for you! There is a brilliant bar just off the lobby that has great drink and food specials for hostel guests and has different activities every night. They also stay open until 2 a.m. most nights. With this type of atmosphere, it is very easy to meet fellow travellers and really enjoy yourself. I definitely recommend staying at St. Christopher's Village and look forward to making a return trip.

I had a great time at this hostel! Everything was clean (with the exception of one shower, but there were many to chose from). It was nice having the bar/restaurant attached. You are close to a tube stop, which was convenient. I met a ton of people, as they have a nice hang-out room.

Staff helpful and friendly, helped us find our room. Beds semi comfortable but the hostel looked fun- loved the bar addition and breakfast. Need more toast. Snoring cow kept all the females awake and and smelled and annoyed us- only four hours of sleep. But the hostel was great. Good presentation, good effort. Impressed, but you know- you can't choose your roommates so good luck with that.

I have stayed in St. Christophers Village with my 2 friends from 15th to 16th of May. When we arrived there one of the staff was very unfriendly but we didnt care about that. we couldnt check in before 2pm so we put our luggage in a locked room for 1 pound each. The hostel is about 5 minutes from london bridge underground and the area is not bad. You get cards instead of keys to get to your room. Some rooms are in different houses but thats no problem. We had little problems with these cards because they sometimes dont work. the rooms are clean and so are the showers and the bathroom. But there isnt a separate bathroom for boys and girs that was uncomortable and the handdryer didnt work. The rooms are also on a busy road and even if you clos the windows you can har the noise the whole night, windows dont close properly. The breakfast is severed from 8 to about 10 and it is ok, you get cereals, toast with jams and butter and water, tea oder coffee.I think if you only want to sleep there und want to see london it is worth the money. (18 pound for one person in a 6bedded room)
