We stayed here from Saturday to Tuesday. Getting the bad little niggles out the way, the plug sockets are ridiculous. You can't plug anything in unless the wire out the plug sticks upwards, as the sockets are so close to the dressing table and skirting board. So no chance of using most hair straighteners! Don't know if this was just our room, so might be worth asking if you're considering this hotel. Secondly, the bath is really awkward to get out of. I would not recommend (at least the bathroom in our room) to anyone not fully able bodied. You have to get in the bath to turn the water on so you get covered in freezing water for a few seconds. But those were minor niggles for us. The hotel is lovely overall, the pool looked nice although I didn't get chance to use it, and the gym was clean and well equipped for a few days stay. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Tea and coffee is in a cupboard when you arrive so have a good snoop around when you arrive to find everything. Staff all very very friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was great, it's a lot cheaper if you add it onto the room when you arrive and is worth it. Proper Irish breakfast which my Irish boyfriend approved of 100%. Nice selection of cold food like soda bread, cheese, meat and cereal etc. oh and delicious pastry. Lots of well known chains round the hotel for food too, like McDonald's and KFC, if you've come in late and don't want to eat out. If you have an Oyster card, transport is dead easy with train and tube stations within walking distance. Would stay again!

Lovely hotel, which incorporates the Crown pub. Comfortable 4 star standard rooms, slept like a log. Found all staff very pleasant and cordial, any questions I had were dealt with immediately. Great to have a swimming pool to chill when getting back from a busy day, my son loved the gym, and the option of good, reasonably priced food in two different settings without having to leave the hotel unless you feel like it is good to have. Having lived in London suburbs briefly I found the transport quick and efficient, some will complain about not being central, but frankly given the sheer size of London, either you pay three times as much to be very central or you accept that you will take 25 to 30 minutes to be in the centre, which really is not much for London. Perhaps some people just don't understand how BIG this city is! The breakfast was so huge we skipped lunch every day with no effort. Visting London I'd stay there again. Only warning, and this is nothing to do with the hotel: it's very difficult to get a child travel card for London transport, you have to order it online before you visit. You can get a child day travel card but have to buy it at the tube station, so you'll have a 10 minute walk each morning. Not a problem for us, we needed it after the huge breakfast!

Dear Jane B,

Thank you for your detailed and complimentary review. I am so pleased that you seemed to have enjoyed everything.

I guess my only question would be what we need to do to achieve five stars, but from the sound of how much you enjoyed your stay, hopefully you will be with us again to give us the chance to do this.

We got a good deal when we stayed which was worth it, but I'm not sure I'd pay full price for this hotel. It was a lovely place but prices seem a little steep.
We were originally put in a room where the window looked onto the pool, which was incredibly noisy and very warm! We were woken very early by children screaming who were swimming. We were moved the next morning to a higher floor which was better.
The location is good, Mcdonalds next door and bus stops/rail stations within walking distance. We didn't have breakfast so I cannot comment on the food.
The room was clean and tidy.

Room Tip: Request a room on a top floor away from the pool.

Dear Jennifer H,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review.

As your stay was from September last year, and without knowing how you booked, whether it was during a particularly peak time or even how much you paid it is difficult for me to comment on that aspect of your review.

I am however very pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and found the hotel to be "lovely."

We stayed for two nights, and we have nothing bad to say about the hotel or the room. It is what you can expect from a room at that price and rating, no more or less. Next time, we will probably find a hotel that is closer to the centre of London.

Dear Nikolaj89,

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you found nothing exceptional about us, but none the less pleased that we seemed to suite your purpose.

Although we are a 15-20 minute tube ride from Central London many of our guests choose us for the great value they receive as staying in a hotel of similar standard right in the centre of town can often cost several times as much.
