We stayed at the Fox & Goose Hotel for a second time, as we were so impressed when we stayed last April. Again we had a clean, spacious, warm room with all the amenities we required - even down to sachets of hot chocolate, which we don't always get in other hotel rooms!

This time we chose to dine in the restaurant on both the evenings we were there - and enjoyed excellent meals on both occasions. We also enjoyed the lovely open fire! The breakfasts were also very good.

There is a very pleasant garden outside the pub/restaurant premises, but it was a little too cold to sit out. Maybe next time..

All the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. The rates are very reasonable for London and the hotel is conveniently located for us, being near the M1. The free car park is a bonus. We shall certainly stay here again next time we have reason to visit London.

We really enjoyed our 6 day stay at the Fox and Goose Hotel. The room was comfortable and it was close to Hanger Lane station and a very short tube ride into the city. It was nice being in the suburbs after the lovely but tiring chaos of London. Free parking was also a bonus and overall it was good value.

On the negative side: The room was looking a little worn with rickety drawers and wardrobe. This didn't really matter but we did have real concerns about the fridge being way too warm to even risk milk for a day or two. This was disappointing as we booked an upgrade room specifically for the fridge as we wanted to do our own breakfast. We reported the issue but it wasn't attended too. We were also disappointed that the pub closed early on New Years Eve as we had been looking forward to being able to have a couple of drinks there to see the New Year in.

Another issue - not a complaint really but maybe something the hotel could look into. We usually put the "do not disturb sign" on our door when we don't feel it necessary to create work and washing (environment concerns etc) of having our room serviced each day. On this day however we found new linen and supplies left outside our door anyway which seemed a bit of a waste. We also would hang our towels on the rails - again to be environmentally responsible - but they were still changed each day. These issues didn't affect the enjoyment of our stay but could maybe be looked at re hotel policy.

Overall we wouldn't want these comments to put others off staying here as the cost was very reasonable and we did find the Fox and Goose enjoyable and value for money.

Stayed here for 2 nights (checking out today) . Stayed in room 106 which is very roomy and modern. Free car park, 5 min walk to tube which is 25 min from Oxford Circus. Went to 2 West End shows whilst staying so travelled back late at night, no problem. Wembley Stadium is a stone's throw away. Staff are friendly and helpful. McDonald's next door. Nice biscuits in the room. Can't fault this place at all. 10/10 and thanks for a wonderful stay.

I stayed with a friend in a Superior Double room for 9 nights while visiting London over New Year's. The location near Hanger Lane tube station is perfect for quickly getting in and out of central London and is close to a large Sainsbury's supermarket. There's a McD just next door but don't worry - it's not a nuisance and you should really try the pub instead! They serve a nice range of Fuller's ales and great pub food (don't forget the desserts), plus breakfast in the mornings. The staff were extremely friendly and corteous. There's fast free Wi-Fi using a passcode that changes every week - unfortunately you have to log in manually through a web page.

The room was spacious and comfortable, but sound proofing could be better and we noticed that the bathroom was in need of some minor maintenance: some fixtures were loose or out of alignment, and water from the shower had a way of escaping in quantity to the bathroom floor. Everything worked fine, however, and the room had many nice amenities like a fridge (larger than most hotel minibars) and a generous assortment of free shampoos, conditioners and shower gels in mini-bottles.

In summary, I am still going to give this hotel a 5/5 score because the proximity to such a good pub/restaurant, the price and the ease of access to central London are advantages that outweigh everything else. Access to Heathrow airport (via Alperton tube) is easy enough though the trip takes longer than you'd think. I would not mind staying here again the next time I'm in London.

Room Tip: Get a Superior room - based on the other reviews here of what I assume are Standard rooms, the Super...

Dear W2k
Wow, 5 out of 5 is great news. Thanks for taking the trouble to write a review and such a glowing one at that. Really pleased you liked the pub and restaurant. The hotel is owned by Fullers so you can be sure the beer is going to be second to none.I will look into the maintenace issue you mentioned and hope to see you soon.

The hotel has good staff, the bed was fine , but leaves much to be desired in terms of maintenance. The room was clean and tidy but the walls stained with mold and moisture . The vent in the bathroom was covered in mold and fluff.

The hotel pub is very welcoming and the food excellent quality , the only detail I have to point out about the hotel is that the kitchen has a short time , often went for lunch or breakfast and the kitchen was closed, had spent my money to eat there but I had to on the street.

The fox and the goose is well served , five minutes walking to the right is the Hanger Lane station and going to the left about ten minutes Picadilly Line. The neighborhood is not the nicest but it's quiet and you can walk if you go back to the hotel late at night or if you go early in the morning .

Despite the nasty little details, if not get a hotel in the same price range closer to the center , would stay at the hotel again.
