Staff very good and welcoming. Room is what you would expect from Travelodge- basic but clean and functional. BUT rear facing room looked out on to rail junction and platforms with loud and incessant train noise and squealing of rails throughout the night with no break. Sleep was impossible! Luckily we were up at 4pm to catch an early Eurostar. Easily cured by fitting aircon and removing need for window ventilation so please why not do it Travelodge?

Great location for the weekend fun and it could have been cheaper if I booked it more in advance - lesson learnt for next time I need a short stay. The room has just what you need and is a step up from a hostel/backpackers. It is Private, clean and with own bathroom.

Poor check in service and behind the hotel is a small street where drunks and druggies hang out and make noise all night. It's also very close to the railway line which is very noisy. There are so many hotels in the area so just find another one!

Several weeks before our stay we booked and pre-paid one room for one night. What was our surprise when we arrived at the hotel around 10h45 pm: our room had been given to someone else, because we were too late. No one called us in advance to ask us if we had a problem, albeit the management had our mobile phone.
We were proposed to wait for a cab and were then taken to another Travelodge at about 20’ drive away. As the day after we had to take a train early in the morning we lost about a good hour of sleep altogether, not to mention the disagreement of being in a different location

It is regrettable you were relocated on this occasion turineis; unfortunately we had an unexpected take up of arrivals at the hotel. Our hotel staff are trained in how to deal with such situations and will always try to reduce the impact on the customer by finding suitable alternative accommodation as close by to the hotel as possible and we will cover the cost of any additional travel expenses. We would also expect them to contact the customer beforehand in order to reduce the impact on our guests and we also have a dedicated booking support team. We’d like to be able to contact you to find a resolution. Good points: Location - great for catching Eurostar early next morning. Room was clean and looked to be newly refurbished. Very comfy bed with crisp bedding.
Bad points: We were at the back directly near a train line which ran trains until after 2pm. However, once the trains stopped it got even worse as they appeared to be doing work on the line and between the hours of 2.30am and approx. 4.30am all we could hear was the sound of pneumatic drills! (This was even though we had brought earplugs with us having read previous reviews of this hotel). To cap it all, just as all this had stopped and we had fallen asleep at 6.30am a refuse vehicle came along the back street directly under our window and woke us up again. One of my worst nights sleep ever but hardly the fault of the hotel as when you book this place you do know what you are getting. As I said, maybe we were unlucky to be there when the track work was going on through the night? Who knows, but due to the good points I have rated overall as average. Would I stay again though...errr no!

Room Tip: If you are allocated a room overlooking the railway line get it changed as quickly as possible or fa...

Great location for train, clean, comfortable friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast has good choice for continental and eat as much as you want. Good value especially if booked early enough would definitely stay here again..

Stayed here as the price was good and it was right next to where we needed to be. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful on checking in and the room was better than was expected - having not stayed in a travelogue before. The bed was very comfy and everything was well presented and clean. The only criticism is that the room was very warm so we opened the window. This meant it was pretty noisy being in Central London and right on top of a train line.
