On arrival, hotel looked great, easy access to DLR and tubes, well situated for 02 areana, just a few stops away. the hotel and room itself was nice, clean and comfortable, however we stayed for 2 nights and our room was not cleaned once. Our second day we went out the entire day until about 4pm, and for some reason our room had not been cleaned. The cleaners were in the corridor so we just had to ask for new towels etc as we had a concert to go to and did not have time to wander about while our room got cleaned. The room itself, only thing that wasn't great was bathroom. For some reason the bath and shower is separate rooms for the toilet. However when you use the toilet, the only available sink is in the bath/shower room so you have to come out and walk through to the sink...bit of a stupid design and unhygienic. Apart from that location, staff and surroundings very nice.

I am pleased to read that you found the hotel convenient for the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) and the London Underground, as well as the O2 Arena at North Greenwich.

Novotel London ExCeL is a 5 minute walk from Custom House (for ExCeL) D.L.R. station and is ideally situated for quick access to several of London’s key transport links including the Docklands Light Railway; Jubilee Line (Canning Town); Central Line (Stratford); plus Hammersmith & City Line and District Line (West Ham).

My apologises if your room was not serviced on the second day of your stay, I have since followed up your feedback with our Head of Housekeeping. Rooms are serviced up to 5.00 pm / 5.30 pm each day.

The hotel met my expectations and went a little beyond. Food was really nice, limited selection but what they had was nice.

I stayed with my family over the Jubilee weekend. The hotel was an excellent price & 4 star business standard. We included breakfast for only a few pounds more which was worth every penny as would have cost £18.95 each. Parking is £15 a day which allowed us to take the car and save money on transport to London. Easy access from A13 outside congestion zone .
15 minutes into central London on Docklands light railway 3 minutes walk to custom house station. All day travel cards available at station machines £7.70 AD, £3.20 CH(11-16 ,10 & under free).
Around hotel was quiet its adjacent to ExCel and there were a few up market restaurants and bars - a little pricey for kids. We ate at Hotel one night - mains £12 -20 and an excellent value 3 course menu with drink for kids at £7.95 for 7 -12 yrs. Breakfast was good buffet with full english and all the usual continental meats fruit etc.
There is a NISA store just over the road with a great selection of basics, snacks , fruit etc and of course alcohol !
The rooms were standard, clean safe and minibar available.
Service was good all the staff were pleasant & helpful.

Can't see what all the complaints have been about! It's a large Novotel, and overlooks the Thames, with nice bar/restaurant to sit in or outside and have a drink. Nice watching people waterskiing, and the new Emirates cables cars going over the O2. Yes of course the drinks aren't cheap, it's a hotel. Large, spacious sitting areas, staff were friendly and helpful. We had a double room booked on Lastminute.com, as a secret hotel, so for £60 in London over Jubilee weekend, I think we did pretty well! The room was clean, bathroom and shower absolutely fine, separate toilet - all clean and in good condition. The room was quite hot at night, but we could have solved this by leaving window open a crack - just didn't want the arrivals at City Airport waking us early.

Didn't have the breakfast as a bit steep at £12 each, pre-booked, but found a little place for coffee and croissants just along the road. Easy access to everywhere, 2 mins from Docklands Light Railway, took us no time at all to get to Tower Gateway and Southwark. Central London was heaving, Docklands was quiet and peaceful. Would happily stay again.
