If you are after a spot of luxury without paying top London prices, this is the place to stay. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and treat all their guests like VIPs (the doorman is always on hand with a friendly welcome).
We stayed here while celebrating my husband's birthday. Having informed the 'virtual concierge' this was the reason for our stay, he was given a complimentary bottle of wine and box of truffles, which was a lovely surprise.
The room was incredibly comfy and clean with lovely soft feather pillows and a very comfy bed. There was no noise from road traffic and lovely views overlooking the West India Quay.
It's a great base for exploring this fascinating area of London - while we were there we visited Greenwich, the London Docklands museum and did a Jack the Ripper Tour. The DLR (which has a stop very near the hotel) is a great way to get around. There are also some really good restaurants around the Quay and fab shops in Canary Wharf.
A good tip is to book this on the Marriott website rather than on sites such as Bookings.Com, Late Rooms etc, as you'll get the same price but have the benefit of Reward points and the virtual concierge. It also pays to book way ahead to get a good price.
The only downside to this fabulous hotel which was the breakfast, which was okay but nothing out of the ordinary compared to the luxury of everything else (croissants were a tad dry). Also, there isn't a swimming pool which was a bit of a shame.
I would definitely stay here again when visiting London - it beats the West End of London hands down in value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room, overlooking the quay.

THE BEST night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel. The room was lovely and quiet with thick curtains and a huge comfortable bed. What more could you want? The staff were all very helpful without being intrusive. The only bad point for me was the low pressure on the shower but that didn't cloud the overall impression of the hotel. The location is great and so easy to get the DLR. We used the bars and restaurants in the vacinity and breakfast in Browns was a good move and a fraction of the hotel cost. We requested a room on a low floor as my husband is no good with heights and we were allocated a room on the mezzanine level which we think was actually an upgrade. I would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a low floor

Lovely hotel with awesome friendly service. Close to the mall and subways. Only things not making it 5 star is the very expensive breakfasr. Almost twice the price of the hilton breakfast but tastier.
Rooms are also quite small for the price you pay. Also for that price complimentary water should have been provided especially as this is more of a norm these days (except at Marriot hotels)

During a recent stay at the hotel my partner was taken unwell, and we had to ask the hotel for assistance. All staff were so very kind and genuinely caring and really could not have done enough for us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food at the hotel, which was served very friendly professional staff, who clearly take pride in what they do.

The hotel is awaiting a refurbishment, which will help to freshen up the bedrooms as the decor is now 10 years old. However, standards of Housekeeping are very high, and rooms are always kept clean and fresh.

The location of the hotel is also very good and accessing central London is easy via the DLR, Jubilee Line from Canary Wharf or even via one of the frequent water taxis. The area itself is also worth visiting and there is a good shopping centre next to Canary Wharf station. Therefore, I would highly recommend a weekend stay at this high quality, yet relaxed and very friendly 5 star hotel.

A big thank-you to all the wonderful staff who looked after us on our last stay, and made us feel so very welcome.

Room Tip: All rooms are spacious and maintained to a good standard. I would recommend booking a room with Executive Lounge access, where you can have breakfast during the week, and snacks and drinks in the evening. Executive and Curve Suites are the most spacious, with the latter having the best views.

We were staying at this hotel for a long weekend for 3 nights. We liked the location – it’s not far away from the central London. It easy to access from the airport as well. We had a room on the 2nd floor looking to the backyard – very quiet and comfortable. The room was very clean, comfortable beds and pillows, well equipped bathroom. We did not have breakfast at the hotel – there are much cheaper options in the area around the hotel. The only negative thing that they did not have enough umbrellas to borrow! I mean if you are in London in 5 star hotel – it should not be a problem to get an umbrella there. We would stay there again (if we get the same offer for 100 £ per night).
