We had a great 8 nights stay where we enjoyed every minute of it due to the great staff this hotel has, form the check Laura was great & did all she can to find us close rooms with views as well as send us a fruit basket as soon as we got in. Holly at the Lounge was so helpful in every way & made us feel at home, The kids loved her & she did what it takes wot make them happy with a great smile, Elivs was a great help in arranging our transportation as well as our show tickets. All the staff were exceptional. doing a special job with a smile. We stayed at the JW Grosvenor House late & they were f=great as well, but the West India staff are even better. Thanks so much for making our trip unforgetable.

Room Tip: ve good views & are very quite.

My boyfriend and I stayed here last Saturday night (09th August 2014). We arrived late at 9pm - the lady on reception was so nice asking us questions about our day and what we were up to in London - I mentioned we may be having lunch in Canary Wharf on the Sunday and she pointed out lots of places on the map for us. The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The bed was huge with a million pillows and so comfy. It was a great nights sleep and in the morning the breakfast was all you can eat continental and/or full English breakfast and waffles! They could even make different style eggs if you wanted. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Thanks for a great nights sleep!! We paid £99 for our room which was the same price as the Premier Inn so it made perfect sense to opt for the 5* quality of the Marriott West India Quay.

Booked this Hotel primarily for the night we visited the O2 Area for the Monty Python Reunion Concert. Location is very nice with beautiful views of the Wharf area , downtown skyline lit up at night etc. Superb mass transit access to all points ( Light rail and Tube). Good number of local bars and restaurants within walking distance ( best sticky toffe pudding I have EVER tasted , right next door!). Excellent concierge lounge with breakfast running the full range from healthy cerals and artisan yoghurts/fruits to cooked english...and hot evening appetizers of very good quality. Very friendly and helpful staff...we will staff again for sure ( and Im a Platinum Premier , 200 nights plus member)

Room Tip: High Floors get awesome views of downtown skyline

We stayed at this hotel the night before the Ride London 100 bike ride this weekend! One word! Amazing! Fantastic service from the moment we arrived and a kind man took my bike and proceeded to have it hung up in the special area for all of the other bikes staying over that night. A dedicated sign in service for our bikes, valet bike parking and special mechanic on site to jelp out with any problems! We were amazed!

Service fantastic, rooms lovely and the early breakfast/dedicated cyclist dinner all top marks!! Will be back here again if we get a spot in the ride in 2015!

I stay away quite often with work and so am guilty of not writing many reviews on Tripadvisor unless somewhere is exceptionally good or bad. Like many others I stayed at the Marriott to do the Prudential Ride London event. The hotel itself is very well appointed, but what stood out for me was the amazing staff and the lengths they went to to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Everything from installing secure bike racking specially for the cyclists, to putting jelly beans and sports gels in the room for every guest. They even started breakfast at 4:00am so that the early starters could eat properly before setting off and provided slippers so we didn't look like penguins when walking around in our cycling shoes. Every staff member I met was friendly, professional and extremely helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Apparently they also had a wedding on the Saturday night, but seemed to manage these two very different events without any inconvenience to anyone. If they cope this well with 100 or so excited and eager cyclists (before the event) and the same number of elated but sodden guests returning 8 hours later, then any normal stay will be a breeze!

The location is perfect for connections into the city or events in the local area, and the immediate location itself has plenty going on.

Whether booking a hotel for leisure, business or even the Ride London next year, I don't think you would find a better place.

For a 5 star hotel, the Marriott at West India Quay doesn't offer the best bang for your buck.

Firstly, the only reason you'd really want to stay here is if you're coming into town for meetings in Canary Wharf or the O2 - as other than office buildings, the area has absolutely nothing in the way of tourist activities.

But you'd already know that if you were checking out this hotel to book so let me get to more specifics.

Whilst the room and bathroom do provide great luxury that you'd normally expect from a 5 star hotel - the overall service of this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. To put this into context:

- They charge you £6 an hour for Wi-Fi (in this day and age, it just seems so mediocre for a hotel of this reputation to be charging for a basic facility such as wifi)

- Ordering room service would have somebody come and dump a food tray at your door rather than the 5 star norm of a trolley brought into your room.

- The restaurant's food is great but it takes ages getting service from the staff as most nights the place is packed with people who work in the area thus leaving the staff having too many customers to serve.

- The hotel's pool is not inside the hotel but in a nearby gym, so not the walk down in your shorts to the pool scenario here in winters.

In a nutshell then, all the fixtures and fittings make it a 5 star hotel, but the overall offering you get for your buck makes this hotel not truly 5 star.

Dear Jafer S,

Thank you very much for taking the time to submit your feedback. I am pleased to read you enjoyed the room and the amenities.
I just wanted to clarify a few points you have raised in your review. Firstly, we do offer complimentary Wi-Fi in our Lobby area as well as in our bar. Moreover, I do apologize for the waiting time in our restaurant but I can ensure that since your stay in May we have improved our quality and speed of service.
Finally, although we have a fitness centre with a sauna and a full equipped gym, we do not have a pool in our hotel and we do not advertise so. We give the opportunity to our guests to use the swimming pool of a fitness centre located 50 metres from our main entrance.

I do hope you would give us the chance to show you how our level of service has improved in the last months.

Sincerely,
Bertrand Dijoux
